Is it possible to "Know God" but not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ?
    NO.

It is however possible to know about God and not obey the Gospel.

The Bible definition of "know" is to be one with... so those that know God are ones walking with Him in sincerity, not those ignoring Him and doing their own thing.

To know God and not obey the gospel would be what we commonly refer to as "BACKSLIDING". Jesus called them "TARES". They can also be the seed that fell among thorns and the foolish virgins and the bad fish that are cast out of the dragnet.
Unless you are of the persuasion that one cannot walk away from the Lord and lose their salvation, it is possible to know God and not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Hebrews chapter 6 also talks about this.

God does not condone claiming to know Him and not walk with Him. These folks know "about" God but the are not one with Him which is what making Him Lord is about... to walk with Him, not turning your back on Him and allowing Him to lead you.

Romans 8 says those that are led of the Lord are the sons of God... those that refuse His leading aren't.

In fact, in the end Jesus tells workers of iniquity to depart from Him... refusing to walk with the Lord is iniquity because something other than the Lord is first place in one's heart.

The entire book of Hebrews (written to Jewish believers) is about not going back to the law causing them to lose their salvation.

Sure it's God will for us to get saved and never look back, but if we choose to walk away... He will turn us over to a reprobate mind as in the first of Romans because whatsoever we sow is what we reap, if we sow to the flesh we shall of the flesh reap corruption for God is not mocked...

When speaking of the terrible things that are to come upon the earth (great tribulation), Jesus said:

    Luke 21:36
Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

We are not appointed unto wrath (1 Thessalonians 5:9), so the rapture is to remove the faithful from this earth before the great and terrible day of the Lord... which is when He is going to pour out His wrath upon the earth to punish sinners.

    2 Peter 3:3,4
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

The reason Israel was destroyed was... they rejected Jesus and thus rejected the New Covenant God told them He was going to make with them

    Hebrews 8:9
Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

Eventually, the United States is going to be judged since we have always been a Christian nation but it's getting to the point that if God does not judge this nation for it's wickedness, He is going to owe sodom and gomorrah an apology.

God's faithful will be removed before this nation crashes and burns and a large percentage of this nation's population is destroyed in death. God is not mocked, whatsoever we sow is what we shall reap (Gal 6:7,8)

It is for over comers... those that are walking sincerely with the Lord having turned their back on the old lifestyle and being separated from this world being led by the Spirit of the Lord Jesus unto personal relationship with the Father.

What did Jesus teach about this?
In Mathew 13:30 He says to the reapers "first gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into My barn." He says it again in verse 49, in a different way: "So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire."

What did the apostles teach about this?

    2 Thessalonians 1:4-10
2 Thessalonians 1:4-10New King James Version (NKJV)

4 so that we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure, 5 which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer; 6 since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, 7 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10 when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe,[a] because our testimony among you was believed.
It seems a more accurate understanding from scripture shows that it will happen on the same day. Jesus comes back once, not 1 1/2 times. The pre-trib rapture teaching has Him coming partially back, grabbing His bride, and then one day coming back with them in His army to bring wrath upon the wicked. Again in 1 Thessalonians chapters 4-5 it speaks of this as a one time single occurrence.

In both 1 Thessalonians 5:2 and 2 Peter 3:10 the apostles taught that Jesus will come as a thief in the night. In Revelation chapter 14 the great harvest of the earth is declared. The vine of the earth is thrust into the great wine press of the wrath of God. Then looking at Chapter 16:15 Jesus Himself says "Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame. (By the way this is another anti-OSAS verse: It is up to you to keep your garment of righteousness).

The doctrine of a pre-trib rapture was not taught to the early church. So why are we teaching it today? The apostles are our foundation, along with the prophets and Jesus Himself as the chief Cornerstone.

KNOW does depict intimacy and/or familiarity such as a wife and husband. But just as with a marriage it is possible to not walk in unity while being IN unity/married.
