Virginia pastor who defiantly held church service dies of coronavirus
He practiced what he preached — then he died of coronavirus.
An evangelical pastor died of COVID-19 just weeks after proudly showing off how packed his Virginia church was — and vowing to keep preaching "unless I'm in jail or the hospital."

So these pastors who don't stop holding open services, preferring to faith it, I assume they also don't obey seat-belt laws, trusting the Lord to save them from accidents. No motorcycle helmets either. They certainly better not have any guns at home for protection.

He wasn't a good example for his flock. Just being courageous is not enough. There must be faith. A stubborn defiance is not faith. However, he may have been a good man otherwise.

Bingo. There are many things people think are faith but they're not.

Does this experience alter how we should interpret scripture or respond to challenges against practicing our religious faith? No...would it seem odd if we found Jesus rewarded him for his faithfulness in the face of physical and governmental danger?

I see a difference.....The Bible does not instruct us on wearing seat belts. It does instruct us to NOT forsake the assembling of ourselves together..
Apples and oranges IMHO

I wonder if we value this life too much?
