It's all related to the modern progressive Christianity that wants feel good emotions without solid doctrine
They think they are being lead by the Holy Spirit but it's delusion

Or they think they are lead by the Holy Spirit when they read New Age concepts like frequencies into Bible passages.

What do you mean by frequencies in the Bible?

Catchy talked about that several years ago, do a search. I suppose the "stream" she was part of was fairly sound otherwise so that made me really concerned.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

Yes, there are streams in the church that have latched onto "frequencies", healing stones, etc., things commonly associated with New Age. Their rationale for bringing it into the church flies under the banner of "redeeming these things for the Kingdom of God". Very deceptive.

I know through learning Physics that light, energy, sounds etc. occurs at different frequencies but this is a scientific observable fact that can be used in the natural world and is part of God's creation
In the spiritual realm there can be energy or power by God or by evil spirits
As you say New Age and even Hindu practice has tapped into spiritual energy fields - it is dangerous

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

I think it's more dangerous when Christians read that into OT worship passages and interpret them as "the right frequencies of sound" unleashing the power of God upon the enemy. And then they try to come up with the same in their worship, or pray to God for "the right frequencies" to be played. At best it's nonsense. It seems to be based on multiples of the basal frequency of the Earth which is a few Hz.

Is it believers trying to be super spiritual and pretending they have come up with a new sound to impress others?

They seemed to think that the right frequencies in and of themselves unleash the power of God. The impersonality of it makes it a New Age type belief, just like "faith is a force" as some (possibly only a very few) WoFers have taught in the past.
