Pentcostal church using games of chance to raise funds
A Pentecostal church close to me has announced it is having bingo games and raffles for the church to raise funds for needed church repairs.I thought to myself they should be teaching more on tithes and offerings. This Church is meeting in a former Catholic church where they had an annual festival with plenty of gambling going on there. I wonder if those spirits are still there influencing people to go the way of the gambling Catholics.

I've always seen raffles and bingo a way to donate money and have a bit of fun with other like minded folks. I don't know anyone who's actually "betting" on a winner.

I remember as a teenager, there was a lottery that had really gotten up there (this was the years before mega million) and my parents and their church friends had an auction for God (in fun) "If I win, I'll give God 50K" "no, if I win, I'll split it 50/50" of course none of them won, because non of them bought tickets! :lol

This is nothing new. Churches have been doing this stuff to raise funds for decades.

My hubby (Pastor) and I taught on it for YEARS, and the people still didn't give a true tithe...
And don't get me started on how the offerings would drop off tremendously during "Holidays"
