Thread: THEY GAVE ME THE MIDDLE FINGER AT THE ALTAR - Jeremiah Johnson

The look on their faces as their heads snapped up was priceless. They didn't even have to answer me. I said, "You are asking me to bless something that the Word of God has clearly already called sinful. You don't need a prophetic word. What you need to do is repent of your sins, stop sleeping together, separate, and then I'll pray God's blessings upon you." They marched out of that church faster than I could blink and gave me the middle finger on the way out the door.

To be completely transparent, as I continue to preach in more than thirty five churches and conferences a year all over America, I'm fully convinced that if the true uncompromised gospel of Jesus Christ was boldly preached with authority in many many of our churches, they would be emptied out rather than filled up. Sexual immorality is at the top of almost every list of sins in the NT and it is emphasized in the book of Revelation as one of Satan's primary weapons against the Church in the end times. (Revs 2:20; 9:21; 14:8; 17:1-4)

Lifting our hands up on Sunday morning and pulling our pants down on Friday night is not okay. Heterosexual, homosexual, bi-sexual, and however else sexual you want to get, but if it's not in covenant as defined by the Word (man and a woman) then God condemns it. Saints, the sin of sexual immorality is not just in the pews! It's behind some of the pulpits and strutting around on stage behind the keyboard and in the choir.

I believe God is releasing bold prophetic messengers in this hour that will specifically confront the sin of sexual immorality in the Church and raise up a standard of righteousness in the land. Now is the time to drop the plumbline, make true disciples, and fulfill the great commission. Preach the Word and stop apologizing about it!"

Hmm dont Know about the underlined part

    Acts 3:17 - Acts :4
17"And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did also your rulers. 18But what God foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ would suffer, he thus fulfilled. 19Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, 20that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, 21whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago. 22Moses said, 'The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen to him in whatever he tells you. 23And it shall be that every soul who does not listen to that prophet shall be destroyed from the people.' 24And all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and those who came after him, also proclaimed these days. 25You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, 'And in your offspring shall all the families of the earth be blessed.' 26God, having raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you by turning every one of you from your wickedness."

1And as they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them, 2greatly annoyed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. 3And they arrested them and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening. 4But many of those who had heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to about five thousand.

The pure uncompromised gospel of Jesus Christ as preached by the Apostles caused people to join the church not leave it ... Just Saying

    But.... but.... but....

He should have ran after them to restore them. Ya'll know that Jesus said to leave the 99 and go after the one, right?

Yes, these are some of the things I have been told to do as a pastor in similar situations to prove that I am a "loving" shepherd.

The eighth one. Since seven is the Bible's number of perfection then anything coming before or after that is a "middle finger".

When people can go to church Sunday after Sunday and feel no remorse for deliberate sin that they are engaging in, I wonder if they have no fear of God, and therefore are completely comfortable living with and in unconfessed and unrepentant sin.

What would happen if the pastor took Paul's advice found in 1 Tim 5:20 and publicly rebuked those in the pew who continue in sin so the rest of the congregation would be fearful of sinning?
What about actually removing the wicked man from among yourselves (1 Cor 5:13).
Many pastors who literally took these verses seriously, and acted on them, would be removed by the church board.
If you put God First, you have Him at Last.
