Look I don't have a dog in this fight, I don't watch football at all (unless the Lions are in the playoffs) I'm just here for the discussion. You all wanna burn and cut up your Nike products? go right ahead, it doesn't impact me in the slightest.
    Bravo, FaithfulOne.

Protesting, for the purpose of encouraging our nation to live up to the standards of its founding documents, is an act of patriotism.

I applaud Mr. Kapernick for taking a stand, knowing that it might cost him his career. I put him in the same camp as people like Edward Snowden and Kim Davis - people of integrity who have taken a costly stand for a principle. America needs more people like them.

And I do get that some people don't like Kap's choice of protest, and I think he could have found a more effective way to draw attention to the very real problem that he's concerned with, but I'm baffled by the extreme outrage expressed towards the man.

As if he had committed some heinous crime against humanity.

Having said that, Mr Kapernick Isnt telling people what they don't know.

Truth is he will have my support if he chooses to protest police brutality where it matters , IE the mostly democratic party run municipalities where most cases of police brutality take place . But taking his message to a Global audience by disrespecting the flag and anthem simply doesn't fly

There are two institutions you simply dont dishonor no matter what. Those are Your Parents and your Country . I realize that to the left nothing is sacred but if everyone chooses to disrespect the national anthem and the flag what country will we have ?

Should we all start disrespecting the flag because of the Millions of POC that are deliberately targeted for abortion every year ? Point is We can all come up with reasons and grievances to disrespect the flag and anthem if we chose .

Police brutality is not the ONLY thing wrong with America and if statistics are anything to go by its pretty much overblown by the media. As a black man you are far more likely to be killed in a car accident , killed by other black men than by Police

Disrespecting your flag or your anthem is simply a sign of rebellion and nothing more and it goes right in line with the NIHILISTIC vision that the left has for America .

Per the underlined portion of your post I have no idea what you are talking about but of course you had to get your jab in as you always do When you cant debate you start fighting and playing victiim huh ?

Only in your mind dear ... . Apparently you conflate public debate in the marketplace of ideas with trying to shut down free speech thru the use of the law or economic boycotts as the left does .. LEARN THE DIFFERENCE

Perhaps you should take a page from MLK . He protested and spoke out but he didn't disrespect the flag or the anthem. He flew the flag and sang the anthem proudly .. Therein lies the point and the distinction which you WILLFULLY ignore . And for the umpteenth time Kapernicks right to protest has never been in doubt or in question the question is was and remains whether or not dishonoring the flag and anthem in any context is appropriate

Well my bible says you should respect your government and pray for the municipality or country that you live in ..Public protests are fine but Not sure I see disrespecting the flag or the anthem of your country as christian .. do you ?

You like arguing with yourself and off point too boot .. The simple point is that we can all choose to find something to dishonor the flag over about not to start a debate over abortion and what the right does ...but again you reveal your own heart and whom YOU worship and whom holds your allegiance with your above statement above ....

Sorry the abortion industry is not "merely a womans right to choose between her and her God" as you claim... Its actually a Portal for Baal worship with direct impact on the culture of the land and There exists a well financed Priesthood for this form of Baal worship which has found a home in the Democratic Party.. Perhaps if your primary allegiance wasn't to the Democratic party you would realize that

So to ask you the same question Again, to whom does your allegiance lie? And another question, who or what do you worship?
    Excellent posts BAP. Thanks.

Ok so on one hand its ok to protest in order to encourage living up to the standards of the founding documents while OTOH denigrating the very national emblems that represent those same founding documents and the principles contained therein . Talk about liberal logic and doublespeak .

Sorry I don't buy it .. the left is NIHILISTIC at its core and is on a full scale mission to tear down any emblem, institution or tradition that invokes any semblance of fidelity to the principles contained in the founding documents and the ideological framework that gave birth to them.

Nothing is sacred to them NOTHING ..

    Oh One more thing

I have expanded your list of people who also took a principled stance to include Osama Bin Laden . He came from a billionaire family and could have had it all but chose to give it all up and live in caves for the sake of the principles he believed in .

Talk about self sacrifice? Bin Laden was the epitome of self sacrifice as are millions of Jihadists (Shaheeds they call them ) who are willing to strap bombs to themselves for the principles they believe in

Point being that some principles are anchored in NIHLIISM or self destruction and we shouldnt applaud people for sacrificing personally towards NIHILISTIC Causes.

I would never align myself whatsoever with the likes of Bin Laden. That man is now in a place of eternal torment grieving over his actions on every level and action. The mere thought of that beast of a memory having been assigned as a man of “integrity” boggles my mind. Any antichrist man is not capable of integrity. What would God say about him?
