    California pastor commits suicide

We had a mutual friend. This pastor was from the LA area.

Pretty shocking. I think pastors are under more attack, burnout, and more depression then they care to admit

I’ve been following this tragic story since it happened. Pastors need encouragement. Take the pastor out by death or otherwise and you hinder that church’s vision for a good length of time. The devil never takes a rest, never sleeps and never takes a vacation. He plays for keeps and this is no game.

It's a good thing that there are more of us and the same number of him, compared to the time of the early Church.

One more evidence of why churches need to be led by a team of elders, not a one-man show. It's too much for one person. It makes it easy for people to avoid responsibility by saying, "It's the pastor's job."

Yes. 50 years without a pastor or any paid staff. There ARE disadvantages, but overall I like it.
