Mass slayings in the Spirit always make me suspicious if it really is God or if it's (mostly) people falling because it's expected of them or because they imagine that they are being hit by the power of God since "everyone else" is. I see scenes were people end up lying on top of each other and there are cases of people having broken limbs during such mass slayings. I'm not saying that God cannot do that for positive purposes (rather than for judgment) but it makes me cringe a bit.

I used to be impressed by all that (the Benny Hinn- like charismatic theatrics) but I'm like "meh" now. That's what it is--theatrics...because a lot of us think that's a "move of God".

How can you be sure that none of that is real ? In some of Todd White's videos he recounts how Benny Hinn ministered to him when Todd White was still an unknown and the result was that he got thrown around as if he was a doll, with the power of God being heavily upon him for hours after.

I don't mean the person being ministered to I mean the theatrics by the "minister"

What do you mean by that ? His shouting or tone of voice in the video ? It seems very similar to when some ministers preach from the pulpit.

I have to say I agree somewhat. I'm just really turned off now by what I consider 'theatrics' that many years ago I enjoyed. So I'm not sure if my heart has just hardened toward it or what.

I've never enjoyed theatrics much but I don't think the stuff in the video amounts to much.

You don't have to throw a theatrical fit (and risk throwing a hip out) in order to minister to people.

It would appear that in one sequence he's being a bit theatrical because he wants a specific person's attention. "look at me. Re-CEI-ve"

From a preacher, I feel the same way but when a place begins to go into spontaneous and clamorous praise...I’m all over that. Dance, shout, get happy!
