I love your passion and hunger for truth and standing up for godliness. In many areas we are alike and we have far more in common than the small parts we disagree.

In this area imo there has been excess and many WOF people agree...sadly some have left the WOF movement because they have been burnt and seen the excesses.

It's not just WOF that has this problem but other sections of the church have embraced indulgence in financial areas

it has brought division in the body.
Brother, the division is caused by those like you, that constantly criticize and mock that which you don't understand. It pains you to no end that a man of God has the audacity to believe God for more than living paycheck to paycheck, or to just be satisfied with having his needs met and bills paid.

You can't prove with scripture that there's a such thing as "excessive, hyper, prosperity." There is not one scripture that puts a limit on the amount of wealth one should have. It is simply man's inability to accept that another man can have extreme wealth and still remain godly.

You can't even comprehend it, and that's the major reason why Christians are among the poorest, sickest people on earth! It's tragic to say the least!
When your praise match your prayers, the answer will come.

I believe a lot of the hurt and disappointment comes from wrong expectations on the believer’s part, and not rightly dividing the word.

Yes, there have been misrepresentations on the message of prosperity, I don’t doubt that. But there have been those that didn’t study the scriptures for themselves, therefore their expectations became twisted. Also, there are many believers whose motives weren’t right in the first place.

Salvation is free, but there are conditions on receiving the blessing. Many believers fail to receive prosperity due to their own lust, unbelief, and carnal living, not obeying God with their giving and their finances, among other things.

So instead of criticizing & blaming preachers like Copeland, Duplantis, and others from the Kenneth Hagin Sr. camp, who teach biblical principles on prosperity, point to the real reasons why folks are hurt or disappointed with by the biblical prosperity message.

    From the article...

He was born in a manger and his followers traveled in nothing but rags.
This is exactly why I have little respect for those that make these DECEPTIVE assertions.

Jesus wasn't born in a manger because He was poor. And He had many wealthy followers that supported His ministry. Why else would He need a treasurer?

Ok, I gotta stop cause I'm not suppose to be in this discussion!! Help me stay out Lord!

That's a quote from the Faithwire article. It's basically a different subject : what was going on in the gospels.

Guess I'm gonna have to address this AGAIN on my blog. Hearing the same old tired arguments about Jesus being wealthy yada yada yada.... How these televangelists need jets yada yada yada.... WOF doctrine has been warped over the years by Copeland, Dollar, Murdock, Duplantis and others feeding off this amway gospel. And just because I and others speak out against this fleecing of the flock we are accused of "touching Gods annointed?" And so it goes I suppose....

As far as I can tell from the details in the gospels Jesus was (as in became) a wealthy Rabbi who lived the lifestyle of a common man. Just because there was money in his money box didn't mean that he spent it on himself or his closest associates. Would Jesus have travelled in his own private jet if he had started his ministry today ? Only if the circumstances had made anything else absolutely impossible. What if one of his wealthy contributers had given him one ? I don't think so, he would probably have sold it and spent the money on something more useful. People try to control people by way of gifts sometimes. Reinhard Bonnke had to say no to one of those people early on in his ministry, who promised him a sustained flow of money contributions.

The currency of the Kingdom is souls. Godly increase is enlarging the Kingdom.

You could reverse the Jesse prayer and do well. Lord, let me reach 54 million souls. The planes, trains, etc. would follow in order to actually do the Great Commission.

You don't need jets or cars to reach the lost, just a tender heart.

He who wins souls is wise.

    and

Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.

Amen. Let us be busy about winning souls and less about the conference circuit where water is hauled to the ocean rather than dry lands.
