BUT GOD! Ahhh, but God showed me that even in despair or grief, our faith to seek Him for comfort, even when small, or weak, is still a vibrant thing to Him. I am sure that we can disappoint God by our failure to keep on keeping on, but He is never displeased with His kids. He is there to lift us up, brush us off and set us on the path again, with an encouraging word and a big fresh dose of His love.
He gently blows on the smoldering flax...mends the broken hearted...

I understand what you are saying, but I disagree that God can be displeased. Disappointed, perhaps, and brings correction, but He is always pleased with His children.

In the positional sense God is pleased with those who are in covenant with him, those who are in faith and are sealed by his holy spirit. Because he is pleased with his son Jesus whom he sees in us. Gods wrath has been stilled by his sacrifice. Our walk is something different.

    In case you missed this:

    1 Corinthians 10:5
But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

    Not pleased would be displeased.

    Hebrews 11:6
For without faith it is impossible to please God...

If we aren't living by faith, then not to please Him is to displease Him.

We will always run into problems when we allow rationalization rather than Scripture to determine our beliefs.
