Don't know if you watched this vid, FireBrand, but it is very timely for your current situation as well as mine. It spoke volumes to me.

I might not understand exactly what you are saying here but my impression was that Firebrand has promoted a very gradual reformation towards more active Pentecostalism in the church he pastors and that he has been successful with that. Isn't that right ?

No, he said that they basically told him to drop the testimonies of healing and deliverance when preaching at their church. You have to realize that there are a whole lot of church folk who don't want to hear about discipleship. They are comfortable right where they are. The church at Laodicea comes to mind.

Of course. But there's always a whole host of bigger and smaller problems that add up to how people react and act and his affiliation with TLR may be a vital one. Only with Jesus were people's (true) problems only a matter of the spirit he represented. The rest of us have faults and problems that figure into the whole equation.

I dont care who says what but there is a real benefit to having a denominational charter. That being, if people dont like the spirit-filled church they can find a church that doesnt teach or express it. With us, yes it’s been a source of problems in our church 125 year past. You cant shut the door on the Holy Spirit without consequence. However, revival comes, man will try to control it and many times for profit and fame. And that is interdenominational.

We have only heard one side of the story and that is the pastor's. This is guesswork but it could be that they had told him to tone down the deliverance testimonies just as outsiders were focusing hard on that part of the whole thing and then he decided to be as "radical" as possible and just go ahead with it anyway. The Norwegian translation of a verse from one of the epistles says "buy the correct timing". Wisdom is always needed, including with how and when to do the things that are totally, totally right. Jesus drew back some times, hid himself in the crowd sometimes, told people outside of his closest circle of disciples not to spread the message some times (in his case it seems to be because it would have increased the pressure on him from the ever present crowds and that was getting out of hands). We have the Spirit of wisdom, not just the Word that pronounces an (ever present) commission to do certain things that will, in and of themselves, promote the gospel.

I have had times when I have to guide a prophetic team on what not to do. It was a troubled church that would have stumbled all over it as weirdness. My desire was to bring everybody along. Their reply was “a pastor knows his people”.
