    I saw it ..

To me it was just a superhero movie. Not really sure I understand the hype but I guess many folks are looking desperately for something to look up to and to derive their self esteem from

Certain parts made me uncomfortable SPIRITUALLY , IE when they called on gods and stuff like that ...

I saw it and enjoyed it, particularly the special effects. But what he's saying is true. There were some disturbing scenes and especially the worship of the ancestors and talking to the dead. I won't be buying it to add to my film collection.
When your praise match your prayers, the answer will come.

Good video. May share it later on after the frenzy dies down. Sharing it right now may have the opposite effect. It is not that I don't mind getting "unfriended" or "unfollowed" but I am trying to soften the hard "I don't care what you think of me" stance that I have taken in the past and actually try to win these people over.

Hubby and I haven't seen it, and we don't plan to see it...

As a matter of fact, he warned us about some of the same issues raised in that video on Sunday - Some of the Peeps got real quiet, and he didn't get a lot of "Amens" at all.

After that video and the "worship" frenzy I see among family and friends I am leaning strongly on the side of not seeing it. It appears to be the same reason I did not watch any of the Harry Pothead movies or even the Dr. Strange superhero movie. As a matter of fact, I am nearing the point of not watching any modern day movies or TV programs.

I hear ya, Brother! - I'm amazed that a lot of my "Christian" friends looked at me like I was crazy, when I tried to warn them about Harry Potter, and other books and movies of that ilk.

Most people think we are being legalistic but they don't understand the truth about opening oneself up to evil spirits.

There are movies that are influenced by the devil. Many of the horror movies that come out can open up a person to a spirit fear or a sensual movie to a spirit of lust.

I remember back in 1973 when the exorcist came out I was 17. I went to see it and afterwards I was fearful and was depressed for a couple of months.

I eventually shook the fear and depression off. Probably because back then I was a pot head which enabled me to bury my emotions and inner conflicts.

Before I go see a flick today, which is not very often because of the content of movies, I judge them before hand in light of Philippians 4:8.

If a movie has a "R" rating, forget it! Same with TV. I hardly watch it. And if I do it's usually Mountain men or another show on Alaska living on the Discovery channel. Oh ya, I do watch Seahawks football when they play.

I will be going to see the Mercy Me movie "I can only Imagine" which comes out next week.

Amen Smitty. If we supported those types of movies more often then Hollywood would recognize that they can't keep making money selling us demonware.

Yeah, I was not cool with the Ancestor worship stuff either. Reminds me of mission work in Zulu Natal in So Africa. Ancestor worship is so ingrained in the culture that evangelism efforts needed to be handled carefully in getting new Zulu Christians to stop it.
