Organizations indoctrinate their 'members'. All of them do it. And if they have a flawed sense of allegiance to that organization that will solidify or seal them in.
I think you are making a big leap here, Quest. The body of Christ is a many membered body and they all have different functions. To say someone would be in the wrong because they believe they are called to pastor in a Baptist church is a far reach.

There are multitudes of very dedicated believers who may never walk in the place you speak of, but that doesn't mean that they are closed minded, or aren't following the leading of the Holy Spirit.

That is actually not what I said...let me restate..someone who receives the call while attending a Baptist church may mistakenly believe they are called to be a BAPTIST pastor...see the difference?

Actually, many of them ARE closed minded...they sealed themselves into the boundaries of the organizational doctrine and can't see anything else...when challenged on that doctrine they actually feel defensive and threatened rather than having faith to be BEREAN..and even if they are they are often so indoctrinated they just can't see..Holy Spirit can fix that but it is up to them whether they allow Him to or not.

I would call it Doctrine Bound..sort of like when a bird is cage bound...

It is a rare thing to hear of a Baptist pastor embracing the reality of Pentecost and the gifts..and when they do they are more often than not ostracized from their 'church' that God led them to..There are exceptions of course.

Family members who encounter deeper truth often feel pressed to leave their local church because they have become ostracized especially if they become vocal..

    pondering now.....

I understand that the Charismatic movement made this less because pastors realized they had to give room for some difference or lose a lot of their 'sheep' and money..in fact now that I think about this might be a significant reason many churches have become powerless...they are such a BLEND of varying theologies that they can't really become cohesive spiritually...Kind of like don't ask don't tell?...hmmmmm

Role of pastors...to lead (be visionary) the sheep to pasture for nourishment ..when they set boundaries on that nourishment for themselves they ultimately set boundaries on those God has gathered together for them to lead...

That is exactly what I am saying.

I have never in my life heard of a Baptist youth being called to pastor who said they were called to pastor anything other than a Baptist church.

I think you are mixing the five fold calling in with just sincere Bob the Baptist. Yes many are closed minded, but many are as genuine as can be, washed in the Blood of Jesus believers who will never be anything but who they are.

I consider the Oneness/ Apostolics to be my brothers and sisters, although I'm sure some wouldn't consider me to be family.
