If everyone would have stayed in their church and joined in we all could have won the world for Jesus by now.
Well, Nikos I have posted a lot of FACTS to support what I believe, both scripturally and historically...all you do is call names and criticize people..

Sometimes it's NECESSARY, for one's own spiritual health, to walk out the denominational doors for freedom. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is FREEDOM!!!

That was quite poetic...inspiring...Our God is awesome is He not? He can send the winds of His Spirit to catch the leaves of His children and lift them ever higher!!

If God was in charge of His people there would only be one denomination...the ONE that originated in the NT and that ONE would have only expanded ...wow what an amazing image...the NT church gone global in the same truth and power as then..but no...men got puffed up with themselves and decided they would call apart and make perfect Christ followers under their banner...what they missed was the minute they started to dissect they had already missed the mark..

We may be led to attend a gathering under a denominational banner but God has called us to recognize we are HIS not theirs...

It has nothing to do with His and theirs. If the denomination is His get in, don't get out. The pentecostal denominations are born out of revival and formed to convey the Truth. But the Truth hurts and many want to go start their own liberal charismatic church. The charismatic church is just like the denom. They have a head and a board and votes. No difference.

I think all of these comments on here are devoid of biblical intelligence. Get out of those splinter groups and get back in where the power of God is moving!

Yes the denoms are the only ones that are making any progress today. Yet the charismatics tend to drag down the true denom churches and even though they are not a part of them they have an impact on them. I say leave the error ridden charismatic splits alone. Don't even fellowship with them. They have gone after their own devices. The last day revival, if there is one, will be in the denominations not in the charismatic churches who have followed man and gone into biblical error. God is still working with the denoms who were born in revival.

When I refer to denominations, I'm thinking of Lutheran, Anglican, Catholic, Episcopalian, Baptist, Church of God, and possibly Mennonite, just to name a few of the main ones. I've never considered Pentecostal a "main line" denomination because it was birthed out of a move of the Holy Spirit where people were baptized in the spirit with the manifestation of tongues and the gifts. It's been around long enough and there are enough branches of it now that I suppose it could be considered a main line denomination now.

So, would you take a few minutes here and tell me what you mean when you refer to denominations?

    Thanks.

I'm really not getting what you're trying to say. Could you please clarify? Without the insults and bluster s.v.p.

And that's just the whole point Nikos...the denomination is not HIS...just some that have joined that denomination are...and not because they joined...

ALL the denominations were born out of revival Nikos..they were formed by MEN who decided the MOVEMENTS should be bottled up and organized...they KILLED the movements of God for the most part.. The Methodist were born out of the Wesley revivals if I recall so they took that and sealed it up..no more growth...not more revelation...Pentecostal denomination did no different..that's why the charismatic movement was offensive to THEM...

If denominations were simply a tool to help people they would be fine. But for the most part instead of the organization serving the people, it uses people to serve the organization.

I can't think of any Denomination who truly bases fellowship solely on the basis of Jesus, His work, and a persons relationship with Him. There is always an added set of rules that defines to whom they will offer full fellowship (love, time, caring, resources etc...). Those rules usually take precedence over scripture, trying to use scripture to prop up their own desires.

So Denominations compete with one another, instead of completing each other. They compete for people, they compete for 'truth", they compete for money. They even compete with showy programming. And the showy programming isn't limited to "seeker sensitive" churches. The pentacostals and charismatics have their ways of doing it as well.

The only criteria for full fellowship within a church is Jesus. But in a denomination it will always become; Jesus, and this, and that, and the other thing.
