You mean like YOURS did? And Mine? Remember before the mid 1600's there were NO denominations...and the majority of them formed in the last 150 years.

The bondage is in the ones who split off of the denoms and think they are right and no one else. You want to see bondage go to these splits. These poor people are heavily shackled to their weird revelations.

Historians trace the earliest church labeled "Baptist" back to 1609

The Assemblies originated from the Pentecostal revival of the early 20th century. This revival led to the founding of the Assemblies of God in the United States in 1914

The United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI) is a Pentecostal Christian denomination, headquartered in the St. Louis suburb of Hazelwood, Missouri.[1] It is a part of the Oneness or "Apostolic" portion of the Pentecostal Movement, and was formed in 1945 by a merger of the former Pentecostal Church, Incorporated and the Pentecostal Assemblies of Jesus Christ

The Church of God, with headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee, is a Pentecostal Christian denomination. With over six million members in over 170 countries, it is one of the largest Pentecostal denominations in the world. In the United States, it reports over one million members, making it one of the nation's largest denominations. The movement's origins can be traced back to 1886 with a small meeting of Christians at the Barney Creek Meeting House on the Tennessee/North Carolina border, making it the oldest Pentecostal denomination in the United States.[3] The Church of God's publishing house is Pathway Press.

Copied from Wikipedia...just to name a few..

All splinters off of a movement or another denomination..

You have a major problem. When your opinions become your gods, you are in deep bondage. I have met all these pompous charismatics who have walked out the door of the church. It was all them and they could not stay and fellowship unless the church went their way. They want control. What a shame. If everyone would have stayed in their church and joined in we all could have won the world for Jesus by now.

It will surprise you to know that there are members of the true church in many denominations other than the one you attend. The Independents think they are they only ones. Not so! Yet that is why they are so snooty judgmental. They need to wake up and realize that there are others in the body and how shocking to know that you are not superior to others.
So humble down!!! Climb down off your high stool and get down where there is some reality. Being in a denominational church, I have seen many leave with that haughty attitude that they have some special corner on spiritual things. They love to parade themselves around in front of everybody. Look at me they say. Really? We better be looking at Jesus!

So you must be Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox?

    Maybe Chalcedonian?

The Charismatic Renewal/Movement was a GIFT from God to the denominations who were so shackled in tradition, the Holy Spirit of God was, for the most part, controlled completely out of the churches.

The Charismatic Renewal brought LIFE to the people attending the religious denominations and bound in their doctrines and traditions, even Catholicism.

Sometimes it's NECESSARY, for one's own spiritual health, to walk out the denominational doors for freedom. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is FREEDOM!!!

Technically, the Charismatic movement has been about renewing existing denominations. The Pentecostal movement was basically about starting something new that turned into new denominations since the movement wasn't accepted by any of the existing denominations at that time. So Nikos is on really shaky ground with his denominational thinking here.
