We have ministers in our area who sometime have their "celebrations" and "anniversaries" and charge $150.00 a plate. I never attend any of these functions but this is probably the first one I ever saw for an "elevation" whatever that is.

It's a promotion. We've got a joker in this area who decided he was a Bishop and ordered that his church go on fasts, etc. in preparation for his "elevation". I was seeing a woman at the time who attended this church; went there a couple of times and it was downright cultic!
