Just pointing out that the history of organized church and all the splits was not God...
Why not go with truth and point out that catholik doctrine contradicts God's Word?

That's the truth. You can visit catholik websites and easily see the things they espouse are not scriptural.

That's because they teach false doctrine. It's too bad that so many Christians are scared to call catholicism what it is... false doctrine that sends people to hell.

Amen, a couple of the preachers I listen to recently talked about this, that people can walk away from a good message and forget it in the next 30 minutes. The pastor recognizes the attention span and forgetfulness of people and may feel the need to hammer it home.

Our local pastor has preached on aspects of the spirit-man three weeks in a row. It had fresh Scriptures and different angles every time. This serves also to create a more well defined picture of the truth of a concept.

Even today, at men's group, he AGAIN spoke on developing the spirit-man, as it has caught fire in him as an important thing for us to grasp. I am exactly at that hunger point in my life at this point as well. Hunger for God's Word will do that - boring? No way, I am feasting on the meal being offered ;)

Funny thing is I attended my church in GA for over 10 years and although their were moments of revelation the message was very similar...I think this is because as we mature in the Lord we begin to recognize the simplicity of the Word and all that varies is the method of delivery....

Not saying deeper revelation does not come from it, it can and should...
I think you are spot on regarding the simplicity of the Word. Regarding books, simplicity doesn't sell books.

All you have to do is look around over at the Charisma site to see what is going on. A high percentage of the articles are promoting "5 things you need to know about .... 10 steps you need to know....3 steps to breakthrough......" I do realize that an article may speak to some and not to others.

As an aside maybe not related to the op... About 4 or 5 years ago, I bought one of BJ's books when he was so lauded by some of the forum members. The book contained about 25 endorsements from mostly NAR type celebrities. It made me want to puke. Instead of making me feel confident that I had gotten hold of a book that would really have a fresh word, I thought what baloney! A fresh Word from the Holy Spirit doesn't need "endorsements". Beware when men speak well of you...or maybe beware of those who endorse....

Jesus was referring to non-christians when he said that, people of this world who are of a different spirit. His friends liked his book and endorsements help sell books. Or were you upset that they were all NAR ?

I don't relate to the NAR so of course I wouldn't have even bought the book had I been thinking. 3 or 4 endorsements would be enough. Proponents of the NAR would know what to expect. Like I said, I understand endorsements sell books, but it isn't like he had never written any other books. Sorry I wasted my money mostly. That is why I don't usually buy Christian non-fiction.

The Holy Spirit can speak loud and clear through Rev. Bivocational in Podunk but then he probably doesn't write books.

    Sorry to hijack the thread....

    What is NAR?

What book is it and did you ever read it?

New Apostolic ? Reformation? You know, Mike Bickle and those of his group.

It wasn't When Heaven Invades Earth, but I don't remember the name. No, I didn't read it.

How else can one get others to believe extra biblical teaching if they don't repeat it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over ???

These guys teach a "7 Mountain Doctrine" that basically claims Christians will literally take over the earth and only then will Jesus be able to return and they will speak away the great tribulation and the anti-christ so none of that comes to past as God said it would in His Word.

The "7 Mountains" are: Economy, Government, Family, Spirituality, Education, Media & Celebration.... they claim Christians are going to literally take over and control all these areas of society. It's like the prosperity message on steroids... one must be ignorant of what God's Word teaches concerning end times happenings to fallse for this stuff.

They believe that they are "Apostles" that are like the original Apostles where they receive fresh and new revelation from the Lord that is beyond the Bible... when they give a "word from the lord" they claim it is on the level of scripture kinda like the catholiks believe when the pope speaks it is actually God speaking. Kinda like the lady that writes the book "Jesus Calling" is expected to be accepted as literally Jesus speaking... problem is, some of the stuff her jesus says contradicts scripture so it's obviously a devil she is listening to.

They are laying the foundation for the apostate church that will embrace the anti-christ thinking it's Jesus coming back to earth leading those that follow them to hell. Just like Jesus told us... the goats and the Sheep will be separated and that is going on right now. A split amongst those claiming to be Christians where some follow the false jesus (angel of light, the devil and his minions), and those that follow the real Jesus based on His Word.

Yeah, any serious Christian would be finding out more about this false doctrine so they can stay away from it... it's extra biblical and did not come from the Lord... you know, kinda like the shack!
