BJ has certainly had a positive impact on the church
That all depends on the definition of "positive" and "church"

I've sat thru milky sermons that bored me and yet at other times I've picked up on things that I've missed or needed a refresher on. I liken it to watching an old movie that you've seen many times before but on this particular viewing you notice something that you've missed before.

I agree with you Quest, sometimes we're forgetting or not grasping the basics that are needed to reach and fully understand the next level God wants us on and scripture bears this out:

1 Corinthians 3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

Hebrews 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

Since Holy Spirit is our teacher He can lead us to sustainable 'nutrition' while keeping us in a group that is still getting milk...He has done this for me several times...another issue is restricting ourselves too much..people who won't study or listen to anything outside of their 'denomination' for example...they are restricting their own diet...and I know some that the Lord tried to lead them to fresh food and they were afraid to go...sad...

That would really depend on the denomination. Just to group all denominations together is not an accurate way to criticize. Some denominations allow for much depth and latitude in thinking. Some too much; some too little.

Since non are perfect and non were established by God...non should build walls and tell their people they are the only source of all truth...

Think about it..none of them existed before Catholicism...it was the first organized church that claimed this and took the body of Christ into the dark ages...all the split offs and divisions reveal the imperfections. I do see that some are letting go of that adamancy and allowing the Spirit to restore the unity of the body through pulling down strongholds within us..

Gotta be careful with that... some here believe catholiks are Christians and get upset if you knock the idolators who think they can come unto the Father by some other way other than thru Jesus Christ.

Just pointing out that the history of organized church and all the splits was not God...

Now this would be true of all independents as well.

O BTW there are many small independent churches with their odd and off-doctrines who have built walls just as high as any denomination. IMO it is ignorant to blindly paint independents with a different brush like they are so biblical. Not so.

I agree...when I say all I mean all...there is ONE body united by ONE Spirit, One Lord...One Father...the rest is divisions and man made...
