I agree we should strive for that, but there are Biblical examples that are the opposite of that. Such as Jesus just telling someone to go and sin no more. No follow up, etc.
I feel the same way about the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Why would you get someone saved and then not get them filled with the Spirit? Complete the 'program'. Of course completing the program after that would be discipleship. Jesus did command us to make disciples, not make 'converts'. Of course you have to convert them to disciple them, but you don't stop with conversion.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
The street preacher is much maligned by the religious, the lost aren't as mean as the church folks. I think it's a bit of peanut butter and jealosy.

And he said to them, Go you into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15
He didn't say, "Go you into all the church."
Lack of follow-up has always been the biggest criticism of evangelists, whether street or stadium.

Sometimes people are healed on the street and they need to think things through before making a decision on what to do. Some times it can be a total shock that that happened. Preaching the gospel to them is one thing but trying to force them straight into a church or program can be a bit much, some times. Wisdom is required with all things, not just simplistic rules.

nita and i were the directors for the 2014 vbs at our former church. one of the things we tried to emphasis to our team was follow up. we had around 130 people show up which is really good for a country church. 10 kids got saved that week. problem is the church refused to follow up on anyone. Not that i'm surprised. we r gonna change that with the new church plant....

Another reason that I like the Pioneer School teachings-They present the gospel as they minister in the supernatural, and it isn't watered down either.
The message that Jesus sent us to preach was "Repent and be baptized for the remission of your sins."

There is no mention of faith and in whom and what in the message you just described.
