Does It Matter How We Dress When We Come To Church ?

I don't think there should a dress code in church with fashion police on hand. But it does matter how we dress when we are worshiping the Lord in a corporate setting. It could show a bad attitude of laziness and rebellion when we cannot wear something that does not look like we slept in it the night before. I understand Todd has his clothing suited to street people for whom he is reaching. But to dress that way for all occasions could be rebellion. There is a fine line you may cross to rebel in clothing styles. If you dress immodestly and know it is alluring then you are in rebellion. Rebellion can be seen in clothing, body language, and other not so obvious ways. It does matter how you dress !Does It Matter How We Dress When We Come To Church ?-10985549_10206144654198132_1898121754340596897_n-jpg

I tend to dress so as not to show off my upper body muscles. Thats modesty for me. The rest doesnt matter that much.

We had some music ministers at my former Church. They are very well-known. The wife had on a t-shirt and jeans and she was one of the main singers. Now here's the thing....the t-shirt was all wrinkled and had a few stains on it. Literally. That seemed a bit inappropriate BUT I couldn't help but wonder if because they were travelling, an accident occurred with her clean/good/better clothes. I dunno, but it seemed a lil off imo. She was up front on stage, after all. I was like..."buy a travel iron hon and dab some soap and water on those stains".....

I think it matters more how people dress when they look attractive in ways. Mr. White has an attractive body by now and especially for a 45 year old but he doesnt try to make the most of it. To the contrary, his attitude about himself is an example to other people who are the same way. One can tell when he walks around in a tshirt on the platform and waves his arms around that he is free from his body. It is easier to tell when one has a body that is a bit similar. Just one of those observations.

I get ticked when they put this in a church bulletin, "Come as you are, we don't care how you dress!"They mean well, but to me it's silly to give someone an excuse to be a slob. Dress for the King not yourself !
