Our Church has what we call "Casual Sunday" when we wear jeans on the 1st Sunday of every month...
Most of the members wear jeans and t-shirts, but because I lead the Praise & Worship from the altar, I wear a denim skirt and a top.
It's probably just me, but I feel more "consecrated" in a skirt or a dress when I'm in "ministry mode."
I do, however, wear jeans/slacks/pants to Bible Study and other "casual" events.
I'm sure some more "legalistic" peeps might think my "sleeveless" tops and bare legs (the pantyhose and tights come off from May to October) expose too much skin, but ...
Let every person be persuaded in his or her own heart, right?
*All of that aside, I do believe that ultimately God is looking at our hearts

An interesting note, in some circles, people who dress well (a tie, or a dress or something snazzy) get shunned or made fun of. (I make a distinction between people who play dress up, and people who like to dress that way and would do so on a casual saturday afternoon because they just do)

I wear jeans and a nice clean casual shirt and casual shoes. Unless I'm teaching. Then I go whole hog and wear cords instead of jeans.

Again....I don't care what you wear, as long as it's modest. I generally wear whatever looks good. If I'm having a Sunday where I want to wear my jeans...I do. If it's Summer, and I want to wear capris...I do. If I'm not feeling jeans or capris, I'll wear either my business casual attire, or a dress/skirt. It's just like ever other day of my life, except I generally don't wear my "yard clothes" to church. Now, this Sunday I'll be attending my MIL's church, and a skirt or business casual is expected, so that's what I'll wear because I don't want to offend the folks in the church.
Lion, you said, "I understand Todd has his clothing suited to street people for whom he is reaching. But to dress that way for all occasions could be rebellion." How is casual clothing rebellion?

In certain cultures wearing dreads and casual attire would make you demonized. You must become pliable to cultural dress codes if you want to win some. Americans don't really care who they offend with their choices.
