Regardless of that miracle, I think he has put a lot more emphasis on money in the last 10-15 years. Rod has had Mike Murdock and Paula White on his telecast. I viewed these in the past. Way overboard with "send in a seed" and God will meet your need. I would characterize the pitch as "hocus pocus" giving. Rod Parsley founded World Harvest church in 1977. In the 80's and 90's I used to listen to him and even ordered some of his tape series. But as of late (over a decade), he has gotten off track with the money thing.
Seems like the one I saw he was talking about a special blessing for a 1k gift. Something like that.

Dr. Murdock was a favorite of the Crouches at telethon time. He could talk you out of a $1000.00 gift to TBN if you were a gullible unaware Christian. Here he is on another telethon. Paula white was on "Breakthrough" with Dr. Parsley, and she was ranting all about the $1000.00 "First Fruits" harvest seed. She's also pleaded for the $1,144.00 "Resurrection" seed to send in on a different telecast. Mike and Paula can be very convincing. I've heard pastor Parsley use her "First Fruits" pitch himself.

Voice of the Prophets donation. Someone is about to send you that million-dollar check. She claims there is a Department of Treasury in Heaven. She hinted you can buy an eternal reward (treasure) in heaven.

I agree that a believer can store up treasure in heaven (Matt 6:20). I believe in the blessings of giving (Luke 6:38). I've have even been a recipient of financial blessings. But some of the claims and persuasive language that some TV minsters make in order to get Christians to send in money is preposterous.

I pray it doesn't cost them their salvation. I wouldn't touch doing that kind of thing with a 10 foot pole. I have too much fear of God. People work hard for they're money and then fleecing it from them with false doctrine.

I believe Benny Hinn repented of the $1000.00 shenanigans seed faith he used to bilk unsuspecting Christians out of their money.
Again, I believe in giving. I am a giver. God loves a cheerful giver. I know the Holy Spirit's voice when he moves upon me to give into kingdom advances missions, special offerings, supporting church endeavors, etc.) I don't need a manipulative fast talking TV preacher to tell me to send in that check immediately, or put your gift on your credit card. The phones are open. God is not a genie who will grant you 3 wishes according to how much seed you sow.

He did, but he got back into it. I saw a video where apparently he started doing it again. Seems like it was a Dr. Brown video.

I think the theological explanation for going back to "old practices" is backsliding.
