The thing is we are promised diving healing in our mortal body. Well not even promised. It's a past tense fact of scripture. That is my point. Some do die with those things. Doesn't mean we have to. Again, James. If we ask in faith and do not waver we are guaranteed what we are believing for. And no we're not believing God to die and go to heaven as our healing.

Anybody can die at any time and anyway they want. Doesn't mean the death and how they died was the will of God.

I have seen miracles and healings. I've prayed for many that didn't see healing on this side of heaven. I've had several really close to me that many with strong faith prayed believing completely they would be healed. I do believe that His will is for all to be healed but we don't always comprehend His way of healing. (man, this could get deep in a hurry, huh? )
One thing I have been greatly convicted of these last few years is asking God for His will in this person and the those around them. I think in so many cases God is up to so much around us during these times that it is beyond our comprehension. I think our faith and trust totally has to be in Jesus and not in the healing, if that could make sense. When my dad had his heart attach, we all prayed for his healing but God saw fit to take him HOME.
I certainly didn't comprehend that at the time for sure. He was right in the middle of a growing church plant that was thriving and God was using him in a mighty way. Why would he take him to heaven? I think God spoke to the deep part of me and said that Dad was done and wanted to go to heaven. God reminded us of some conversations we had with him just 1 and 2 months prior to his heart attack where he stated he was longing for heaven - which wasn't unusual. In fact the day he passed away, he begged me to take off the monitors and IV and let him go.
I just think there is so much we just don't understand.
I do grieve for those at Bethel and the Johnson family. I've walked this same road just not long ago with a close friend losing her much loved and prayed for daughter with breast cancer. I think at this point we ask, "ok God, now what do you want to reveal to us?"

Let's just say this. When the Bible speaks of Divine healing it is not speaking of someone getting healed because they died. :)

If that is 'divine healing' even sinners get divinely healed when they die.

Very moving and courageous of Bill to speak after the death of his wife. It's a time of mourning and to receive comfort.
Many in his church who prayed will still be asking about the why's and that is something Bill and the leaders could address in the future.

Yeah, I was surprised he spoke yesterday. Remember he did mention about needing to have answers but what he needed was Him.

When his Father died, he addressed it around the point of not letting what happens to us change our theology. If the Bible says He is the healer, and he heals, and it's God's will to heal all, then that's still the truth, no matter what happens to us He never changes. We don't bring down the Word of God to our level of understanding but bring our understanding up to the level of the Word of God. That's highly paraphrased but something along those lines. There's probably a video out there of him addressing it.

Bill Johnson't wife Beni went home to be with the Lord...-xb-jpg
Bill Johnson, of Bethel Church in Redding, CA., preached 3 days after losing his beloved wife, Beni, to cancer. This was a quote from his sermon:
"God is not a vending machine that I get to put a quarter into & withdraw from Him what I want. He chooses what He gives. But it is the wicked at heart that says'God didn't do what I wanted, He is a liar'. May I never be found critiquing God when things don't go my way. May I always be found having a heart ready to be critiqued by Him. Is God my friend? He is. But He is my Lord first, and I'll never have the pain I'm feeling right now in eternity, so in this moment it is a privilege to respond rightly to the Lord of my life with deeper trust and devotion. I will bow before the Lamb on the Throne in awe, and worship Him forever, but never will I have the face to face chance to do that while I'm in pain, so in this moment I choose to do that. When I said yes to Jesus, I gave up my right to fully understand or be in charge of my life."
