Mennonites Vote to approve same sex marriage
QUESTION: is this the same Mennonites where the women wear a bonnet on their head and long dresses?
The men wear beards and dress plain.
I can't imagine them being ok with this

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
I kinda doubt that is the real Mennonites.

I used to do business with some Mennonites from the Lancaster, PA area. They were almost Amish, had phones and trucks but otherwise very conservative in dress and mannerisms, the church elders were in charge.

It can't be the ones who only wear Blue, Black & Gray lol
I wasn't aware that there are different types of Mennonites. They all seem super strict.
I know there's something called "The Brethren" who are maybe an off shoot? I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that teach Calvinism.

There is one in our area. Had a UMC minister pastor there for a short while. Closer to home there is a Mennonite church (about 15mi from here). They are conservative and a good bunch. Haven't heard of any liberal tendancies.

The "Brethren" folk could also be German Baptist Brethren. Could also be Dunkerds (they dunk you 3 times). Quite a split apart fragmented bunch. You don't even want to get into the sects of Amish.

Thanks. I think they all originally came over on the mayflower, no? Or was it the puritans?
Someone help me with my history
Anyways, sort of off topic, if my memory serves me correctly, the ones who came over on the mayflower did not believe in using the King James Version Bible. They thought it had been tainted and used the Bible from I believe the 5th century.
