Interesting. I remember the name but knew nothing about him. I think he was discussed here on the forum yrs ago.
Do you know what he is doing now?
I often wonder what becomes of the prophets that prophecy outlandish things and then it doesn't come to pass, like the Y2K prophets, 88 reasons, etc.
I remember Kat Kerr was celebrating Trumps election with cake & ice cream, with balloons, hats, streamers etc
It will be interesting if she can maintain her big following.
Of course just like Shamp, many prophets and their supporters say they'll be vindicated.

To me, if they don't come clean when they are wrong, it serves to define them as false prophets. Youtube is thick with them.
Bill Yount is still out there though not as much as ES was enamored with him.

Are there any true prophets in our times?
I tend to trust elderly prophets as they've stood the test of time

I have read the book of Acts through 11 times in the past 11 months (just finished it again yesterday), and I was noticing the proliferation of prophets. We have a lot that claim to be today, but you don't see it in operation in any of the local churches really. And the ones online really don't offer anything specific. The Bible says to not despise prophecy, but I have to admit I don't give much stock in personal words like I used to because most of the time it's so generic anyway. Most prophets today, at least online are pretty generic, and when they aren't, they're wrong. We had plenty of 9/12 prophets, but no 9/10 prophets. And the Trump prophets just totally missed it, obviously not speaking by the Spirit of God.

I can see how people get skeptical of the prophetic. A lot of classical Pentecostals feel just like you do. I didn't grow up in the charismatic craziness. They were looked upon as unstable & flaky.
But I did grow up around the prophetic. Mostly older country people who were very humble and operated the gifts. If they said it, you could count on it.

Your last line, that is where it's at. Prophets, the true and holy men of God are in local churches where they minister in love, accountability and in power. These true prophets stick mainly to the 1Cor14:3 operative and function "But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men." this is where it is needed most. There is a place for the higher profile ministry but it isn't good nor scriptural to lift oneself up to some higher level over those that labor tirelessly and loyally to God and pastor in hidden places.

This is exactly what my husband does - He has been asked (repeatedly) why he doesn't seek a "national platform", and he always responds with "God has not called me to that - I'm not seeking fame and fortune, but I'm seeking Him"

They arent flaky Just Human .. As the Apostle Paul said we know in part and prophesy in part. Furthermore, Prophecy will also require stepping out in faith.
I believe they all saw God's will WRT the elections but some saw it as what would come to pass rather than what God wanted to come to pass..
