    Pastors and Prophets

I have seen prophets try to take control of churches with their Gifts and cause a lot of harm in the process. I have had to learn that if you cannot develop a trusted working relationship with your Pastor you will not be able to minister in the fullness of your prophetic Gift in the local church. I have had one or two of these working relationships with my Pastors. When I did, I saw the Prophet's ministry in operation in a fantastic way. One time we were having a men's breakfast with several men from the church. As we were meeting, I could hear the Holy Spirt saying to me, "affair, affair, he is having an affair!" I get upset and know I have to explain to my Pastor that one of this group is probably having an ongoing affair with someone. I called my Pastor and told him what I heard. He had a great trust in my Gifting, and he said he would look into it. I told him who I thought it was, but I was going to completely stay out of any way he decided to handle it. He never told me what he did. But when they left the church for another assignment, he and his wife told me that of all the Words that I gave him over the 3 years we worked together that I never missed it with them. I did not agree with their assessment but let it go. I can still give them prophetic warnings and they will pray over them and take them very seriously.

Relationship is the key. There must be a deep love and respect for the person, over and above the gift. My situation is unique. The church where I had pastored for 7 years (to the day) is now the place where God has put assigned me to stand with the pastor that was my successor in leaving. He invited me back and we gladly accepted. I go out on apostolic type "Macedonian" calls to help other churches (the last one, 2 years) but I return and welcomed back. My pastor is a gem. He is gifted as a pastor/teacher with administrations. I love standing with him. We have known each other for 20 years, he was in my amen corner while I pastored and now I return that blessing. He moves in the Holy Ghost, wow. He knows what's going on and when he doesn't, he will turn to me. What a joy these past few years has been.

That's authentic 5-fold Team ministry. It's great to be able to say anything that God gives you to your Pastor friend. No one person has it all and we are desperate in the body of Christ for these kinds of relationships. I am back at my old church. I left in 2013 for several reasons. I have only been there for a month now and I had to bring a situation to the Pastors attention. I was trying to avoid anything confrontational, but it was set right on my doorstep so I couldn't avoid it. I promised the Lord a couple months ago I would say His Word or confront anyone or anything He wanted me to. So, me thinks this was a test to see if I was willing to risk being rejected and wimping out again. The Pastor did act on what I told him. It was so sweet for 4 weeks then BOOM this incident happened. He gave me a warning when I got there from Ezekiel 3:8 Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.
9 As an adamant stone harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.
    Prayers would be appreciated...

I have asked the Lord more than once, "why do you bring me the knuckleheads"?

There is no shortage of knuckleheads, in general. God help us.

I was once at a church where a prophet split the church. He was young, very popular and charismatic etc. The split off eventually went into strange doctrines where he would dress up like a pope and sprinkle incense and lie in sack cloth and ashes. That's just the tip of the iceberg. Too much detail to go into here. Needless to say, he ended up dying a very tragic death.

But even with that, there are times that pastors can get very jealous and insecure with a guest prophet, evangelist and even music artist who has no intention of doing any harm to his church.

Was that the guy who was gay and got aids and died from it ? He was just a shadow of his former powerful early years when I saw him. If it's the same person I am thinking of. You could write a tell-all book with all the goofiness you have seen in ministry.

Can't count the number of times my Hubby (a true prophet) has experienced this.

You can forget about unexpected repair costs with an extended service contract for your Saab. Many vehicle repairs can cost thousands of dollars in unexpected expense, now may be the time to consider an extended service plan for your vehicle.
