Putting a shirt on Jesus on the cross would look weird wouldnt you agree ? Then selecting a buff dude to be the shirtless Jesus would be even sillier.

Yeah I agree...our "Jesus" was hardly "buff" in the strict sense of the word, he's just skinny

We dont really know what his body looked like do we ? But a buff dude would still project the wrong image and divert attention from the whole point.

Well, that makes sense.....but an African drummer that is half naked during a beloved Christmas hymn is a bit much. Doesn't really go with a Christmas hymn just like the jazz age has nothing to do with anything, either.

Just to be clear....I understood the "African tribesmen" theme during "Little Drummer Boy". However, there were ways to add that element without being shirtless and in a loincloth (pretty much).

Americans in shorts and tshirts are seen as offensive when visiting some countries, whatever their bodies look like. People running around naked in southern ethiopia were not, IF they belonged to the correct tribe. We learned to stomach it.

Difficult to describe in English, I hope that made sense.
I understand exactly what you are saying.
