Church Attendance Numbers
Just wanting to ask here if any of you have noticed a decline in church attendance locally. What have you been seeing?

Our attendance has dropped off a tiny bit, but not by much.
EDITED TO ADD: Hubby did mention yesterday that one of our area "Mega-Church" Pastors was saying (on his weekly broadcast) that "We've got plenty of seats, you can come on back to church"

We've had a 25% decrease in the past 3 years. Some of this covid loss was not from people staying away but were in disagreement with how it was handled i.e. staying open, no mask requirements and etc.

The church we are in has not grown in the time we have been there. It has a very small congregation of about a dozen maybe. Sad thing is that the pastor really preaches the Word and has a heart for people. He is unashamedly pentecostal too. Kind of points to a bunch of luke-warm folks who call themselves Christian but aren't really wanting to grow.

Let's admit one thing here, speaking in tongues freaks people out. Visitors come in and you never see them again.

Unfortunately, people aren't interested in the pure, raw Word and Worship any more...
They have "itching ears," and would rather hear about PROSPERITY and the ability to gain houses, cars, and riches from God.
