Thread: A black preacher lays it out.... interesting...

I think you can refute what he says....he is making highly generalized statements. He even kept stating that the most educated doctor who is black, is still very messed up. I'm sorry Quest, but again, he didn't say: "Hey, I think there are generational curses that are attached to some in our culture. If you look at the state of Africa, you can see where the principalites and powers that rule Africa have to a large degree, contributed to a lot of the problems you see in Africa. So with that said, it seems as though some of the ways people consider and think about life could have carried through to our present generations".

See how different that is? No "n-----s", no, "blacks minds are messed up!", etc......? We do have to remember also the legacy of slavery and how that messed up people too. There are many blacks still alive that lived through terrible things, so the past is not so distant. That doesn't mean that people aren't accountable for their actions, their bitterness, or how they think.

The main reason I'm stunned at how you view his comments is because of how you sometimes complain about the lack of posters speaking in love, and even the Church in general. Again, there is a way to say things that would make people open. IMO, he was not speaking in love, he was speaking in judgment and condemnation. He gave no solutions, but again, this was only a short clip, maybe he did. I dunno.

He stated numerous times it is in their world view and also said that people may not like how he says it but they cannot refute what he said...and IMHO he was accurate.

My comments often leave you stunned.

But if he is accurate one would have to ask..what happened to an entire people group that caused this stronghold to form.

As for speaking in love, I get that..but I have also seen evidences of the fact that sometimes what WE think of as love is actually PC and does not infiltrate an obstinate or deeply ingrained belief..

Years ago I heard a black person defending whipping a black child solidly..not abuse to some but to some it might be viewed as such. In her defense she stated that black children are obstinate and have to be dealt with very sternly. I remember it because I thought, well some white kids are too! But she was saying there is a common thread in blacks that requires a far more harsh method. This guy reminded me of her. If I recall he mentioned that he had to be very bold and straight about this...

I do perceive he was forceful but that does not mean he was not speaking in love and deep concern..as for using the 'n' word that is common in the black culture..

Anyway...I hope some listen and break free from the mental strongholds of their culture that are really just strongholds of Satan...

One last thing...'isnt' it true that ANY black person that has challenged the black community to break out of this mindset has been rejected as an oreo or some other degrading name? Some have broken out and are free thinkers but rarely will they speak out...the cult mentality says conform or be cast out..

Just remembered at work a few months ago we were interviewing some folks and we interviewed a black lady. There are 5 in our team and 2 are black. After that intervie I voted yes and the two black members hesitated. I asked what was the issue and they said it was how she was dressed..she had on open toed shoes...none of the white people noticed that! In talking further we noted she seemed a little tense and were speculating what that could be indicating...one tem member told me that when black people interview with other blacks they expect to be assessed far more harshly than when interviewed with whites...I told him I thought it would have been the opposite given all the racist chatter we hear...he said no, that blacks hold others to a higher standard...

I think we saw a black man dealing with black people the way they are used to being dealt with...I have seen TD Jakes get really down on his congregations..

This guy is a certified NUTCASE...look at some of his other videos.

Just because he says stuff that tickles the ears of those who want to point out the weaknesses of Black folk doesn't mean he's playing with a full deck or even has the slightest bit of 'anointing'...it's just pandering to racist mindsets.

Humanity is humanity FO......I think that is what he is addressing..

Do you believe 'black folk' have some uniqueness that others can't understand?

I saw nothing racists...I saw him addressing strongholds of the mind..

Racism implies a RACE inherent trait....He very clearly is addressing a generational curse stronghold of thinking in this video.
