I have a site booked for TableRock near Branson with a couple friends in August. Maybe a couple weekends. They are known for bass fishing but I go mostly for the scenery, the quiet and campfire fellowship.

First outing of the summer! Not going far, just a few days before the biggie in the Upper Peninsula later. Maybe I'll post a pic or two.
Just a few pics of the trip. Our site is on the lake, clear water and sandy beach.
The dogs love camping too
Ok one more. This is from this evening.
Just spent 3 nights at Aloha state park and will be packing up for the Upper Peninsula trip tomorrow morning. The Soo is going to be fun with fishing and boat watching.
Stayed 4 nights at the Soo boat watching and did catch one 21" walleye. We are now at Brimley and if the waves calm a little I'll get the boat it. Brimley is called The Place Of The Pike.
Hey Firebrand. I'm working on a week of camping in Hanibal Missouri. There are a lot of Mark Twain things since he lived there and wrote some of his wonderful books there. I'm thinking of some time in August. Want to join the fun? I may already have two other couples thinking to join. There is a Corps of Engineers sites in the area but I'm looking at the Mark Twain Caves site as a possible site as well. Little more expensive but right in the middle of things and includes entrance fees to local places of interest.
Heading south this time. Going to South Higgins lake state park. Higgins is the most beautiful lake in the state (debateable I'm sure). It's deep and looks like the Bahamas. Next door is Houghton, the largest inland lake in Michigan. First time fishing either but I'll start with Houghton's north bay, shallow with good dropoffs and weedlines. We'll see how it is. We farmed out the dogs (standard poodles) so we'll have some quiet stillness.
