Thread: Bird Feeders

On the subject of birds, raptors...last night while pedalling through the neighborhood I rode near a very agitated Merlin (falcon). It was cackling and diving at me for several blocks. It was probably 10' above my head at one point but was clearly unhappy with people in general. Probably a nest nearby.

This hawk has landed on my deck a couple of times.

What an ominous figure. Great pic. Have you seen it snap up a birdie?

    Not yet.

It's been in the woods around our back yard for years. We just had the deck built and it's landed on it a couple of times while I've been looking out that way. I'm sure he has more but just haven't been around when he did it.

This happened a few months back.
We live in suburbia and my wife rushed to the window and staring into our backyard with shock which got my attention so when I looked there was a large hawk on top of a small bird.
It was amazing to watch never thought you would see that in the suburbs.

I grin when hearing about it. A few years back we had a small hawk outside the kitchen window munching on a mourning dove. We live in the city limits. Gotta love nature putting on a display.
