How did your veggie garden do this year?

The season isn't over yet but overall did what you planted do well this year? Michigan had a cool wet spring and while the tomatoes and peppers did well they were at least a couple of weeks behind in growing and harvesting.

The only big disappointment were the cucumbers. I plant the regular as well as the pickling cukes and right from the start the vines had some major difficulties this year due to the weather. Half of them died within the first month and the ones that survived are only giving a sparse harvest. That's never happened to me before, usually at this time of year I'm giving them away and making batches of pickles.

Our potatoes have not done well. For some reason they're rotting underground.

Our garden did excellent, for the most part. Did get some borers that got into the squash and zucchini, but we were able to harvest a ton of them. Cucumbers did great....still have a few on the vine, but it's dying off. Chard did great, as usual, got some fig trees that produced a few figs, but not more. All peppers did fantastic (jalapeno and banana). Overall...very happy.

Mine did awful. The tomatoes did great, and I got a few squash and zucchini, but everything else got some kind of mold on it.

Did you have a lot of rain this year?

I love white potatoes and every year I plant a few, maybe a dozen or so. I noticed that a few of the plants were starting to brown so I thought I'd take a peek a dig a few up. I wound up with about 10 pounds from only 4 plants and most of them are were pretty big too, its the best potato crop I've ever had. :)
