    Oh, the joy of gardening

The sun is warming and there's definitely something going on down there .... small shots are trying to make their way out of the seemingly frozen mud. I couldn't help but had to go out there today and remove some dead leaves and stems from last summer. I wanted to badly to have a small bonfire, but we're not supposed to So well, nothing more I can do in the garden ... I'd better take my car to the car wash. At least that will make me feel I've accomplished something.

I am itching to get back out there. Another month, and we should be in the clear!

I've noticed that some of my flower bulbs are starting to break the soil surface, the hyacinth and daffodil stalks are a couple of inches high.

LOL...frozen mud is an OK term, pretty much describes some areas of my yard too.

Why not? I haven't used my fire pit this year yet but when the weather gets a little warmer I will.

It's not allowed in built up areas. (sorry about my bad English ... built up? hmmmm?)

Urban or populated could be used but I knew what you meant.

Are you saying that you can never do bonfires? Not understanding the reasoning on that. Is it because of the smoke? There's got to be tons of people who burn wood in their fireplaces or wood stoves.

Dirt works too... And mud is fine if it has enough snow melted in it to make it mud...

The only bulbs I have are lily and they don't make an appearance until at least the end of May. I'll have to take notice. There is NOTHING making an appearance here, and won't for at least a month or 6 weeks... I think the bulbs (daffodils and tulips) break through in April, give or take.... might be earlier this year (that's a big might) because we've had such a mild winter.

I guess it is because of the smoke, yes. Silly. and btw, urban wouldn't describe my neck of the woods, but populated would be okay. Thank you for helping me learn the mysteries of English !

I didn't notice them the other day but I have some crocuses that are ready to bloom! But we have several inches of snow predicted so I wonder if I'll be able to see them.
