Using that same lure, this is what pike have done twice to that favorite lure and my spare... yanked the hook off the lure. Never had it happen and now twice in two nights to both lures. Notice how the attaching split ring has straightened.

Here we go, a week of fishing fun. In the morning I take a quiet stroll on the dock and this morning I dropped a worm into the 2ft of water (shallow, wow) and this big black crappie nails it.

Clever tool to measure! I'm always surprised by how accurate a 99 cent yardstick is!

That really is big for a crappie! We used to catch a lot at Kensington Metro Park but most there averaged 8 to 10 inches.

Line scissors, clipped the line. It swallowed the entire bluegill right up to the steel leader. Casualty. Better it than me.
