Inspire the choir with Armour hot dogs

I've really been enjoying talking with one of our newer members, Laura Grace. She sent me this message earlier today and said I could share it here:

I started working as music teacher this past Monday. I have no formal teaching experience, nor do I possess a degree. The first day was pretty dismal. The students told me they don't like singing, there was no materials I was familiar with in the room, and I have no music material of my own other than christian. And this is a school.

I also asked the kids their favorite choir songs. They said "we don't like choir songs." So I also learned they felt they did not do well last year. I said "well practice" is what makes you good. We are the music team, just like there is a football team, and we must practice to get anywhere."

I said I know a song I heard 40 years ago, as I heard it over and over again. Want to hear it? ""yes they said" So I sang them the Armour hot dog song! "Hot dogs, Armour Hot dogs" what kind of kids eat armour hot dogs!" They were all laughing and wanted me to look it up on you tube. So i did. Then they wanted to sing it (so we did) and now, They are singing! (and they liked it!!) so you have heard of Aquire the Fire, now you have heard "inspire the choir" by Laura Grace. PS (and it was fun!)
What a cool testimony, pretty sure most of you all remember the song.

I asked for prayer Awhile back for direction. I was going back to school to continue a teaching degree and got this
job before my feet ever hit the floor for schooling. Nobody was more surprised then I was! First I had applied for once a
week subbing for music, I was told they chose someone else. both the real music teacher and the sub dropped out and
they were desperate so Here I am! Who knows what will happen now? LOL I am rusty on Piano, I called a teacher friend
in Boise and she told me various you Tube materials I can use until I get some songs ordered, and brush up on Piano.

Last year I did music at the church for the kids, (praise and worship) I have not ever taught this large of a group in a
music setting. And if you read my book Grace to the Rescue, you would learn I was rejected from doing music in church
for YEARS! First I was not anointed enough, (supposedly) I took so many hits about music it's not even funny. I was faithful
I learned every song in church on guitar and eventually sang and led praise and worship in a STATE FACILITY (not a rest
home, a mental facility) where I took my ministers license and said "I will do the songs I choose" and proceeded to rock
that place with trading my sorrows, Jeremy camp songs, all kinds of stuff. (Very worshipful) and passed out Tambourines!

I saw a man RELEASED From there after praying with him he said the devil told him this and that. I said "did you know
you can tell him to flee?" (and talked to him) He was a beleiver. He told the devil to flee and the voices stopped and he
was deemed "CURED" ..True story! No ministers would go there. NONE ......I asked. So I did and prayed for the mental
cases which, some are just tormented by demons. ALL TRUE!! But so much of what I do I can't talk about it privacy issues
and such. SO. I have seen a lot of signs and wonders in my time. I can't stand preachers who sell this stuff and ACT LIKE
snake oil salesman. they give us all a bad name. WE are here to see the captives go free!! Amen!!

I thought I'd be travelling by now and speaking, having a ministry as a result of my books. But if God wants me in a little
old school watch out school! I am praying for all of you!! And God doesn't waste anything! and he knows what he is doing!

Amen! There I talked a whole bunch! See how I am? Once I start you can't get me to stop hardly! PRAISE THE LORD!!!

LIGHT UP YOUR CORNER OF THE WORLD!! (with Jesus) I told these kids i am praying! I don't care if anyone likes it! I h
Have no teaching degree to lose! PRAISE GOD! HALLELUIAH!

Well I'm three weeks into this job now. It's been an every day thing, asking God to help me "inspire the choir," for you see, it's a very small choir,
they were put there against their will, so it's been a challenge at best. My other singing groups are going great but, HS choir? So far so good! The
last time I was working with them on harmony they said "the teacher last year tried to teach us harmony for a week, it didn't work, we can't do it"

I said well, "yes you can' as this may surprise you but, I do not like sports! But, I did learn how to do sports! And you can learn to do this! You are
a team, I heard myself saying "a music Team. " I'm praying for them. Appreciate your prayers as well, as the testimony continues to develop.

Awesome, Laura! Teaching children is an incredible gift and you probably already know that one teacher can make all the difference in some children's lives, so I pray that YOU will be THAT teacher! God bless you!

Thank you for all your love prayers and support!

HI! Well I've been at the school 9 weeks now, teaching music. so far we've studied Folk music negro Spiritual, Country Jazz and Church music as well as Pop. We will be moving on to Classical and even a "rap day" but not the bad kind of rap. I found a cute one by will Smith "Parents Never understand" with Tim's help. I thought it was good .....finding the balance between keeping some semblance of class discipline and still relate to them, and hopefully make it a great learning experience is quite the challenge. As you know I wrote books about growing! so .....I pray and think about the seed and how to water it.....and it doesn't have to be the bible and how to soften their hearts a bit.....letting them know I was a teen once two (or a pre teen) but still maintain order. It's been quite the challenge! I tend to put my whole heart and sou into what I do....I see almost everything I do as having eternal value....
So it's not your regular job.....and I've learned all their names now, learned the names of the other teachers learned how things work. I read once starting a new job is extremely stressful. I have done it (get this) 55 times! Well some were temporary jobs. Most of the time I gave plenty of notice before I moved on. Sometimes I had 2 or 3 jobs at one time (fill in, part time and such) so ....I am including babysitting as a teen all the way to now.........
God said if we use the talents he gives us he will give us more (talents) .......so........Now I have a new talent! teaching! Hurray! Laura Grace

I can hear the mustard tree growing and the birds gathering to nest in it. Jesus tells the tree to live and to yield its fruit, to the joy of human beings of all kinds.
