Question about WIFI Signals
So I noticed something that got me VERY curious when I've gone on Kindle as of late. So when we all go to turn on our phones or tablets, we get a list of usernames of routers to click on, in order to connect to WIFI, right? So the other night, I go to turn my Kindle's WIFI connection on, and I couldn't find my username. I had to reboot my router, so it was resolved quickly. But what was so weird to me was that there was a username that said: fbisurveillancevan1. Now it could be that someone is just messing with the neighbors, knowing they would see that username and get paranoid...I can just see some doper smoker seeing that and freaking out.
Anywho...if it is a legitimate "stakeout", my question is how far away would the van actually be? I have no idea. I do have a WIFI Analyzer app, to check for signal strength. I did turn that on, and the signal was there. It got me to thinking.....it might be someone just messing around but who knows? It is an easy username to remember.
Anybody know how close a real van would be to my house, in order for me to see their username router info on my Kindle?

I doubt very seriously the FBI would label what they're doing like that. But it IS funny. lol.
But if it was, it would have to be withing a block or so I think. Wifi doesn't have a huge range. You're basically just seeing the neighbors.
I have one here that comes up that has a name like 'Lucian' or something like that. Don't see it up right now, but a definite devil reference. I have my network named 'JesusIsLord so others will see it and at least know He is whether they believe it or not. :)

You can name your router anything you want.
One of ours was "HAL 9000"
Wifi's typically are 100-200 feet, some might stretch to 600
