Everything --- that's a yes and no. There is so much of what we do, banking, buying, selling, yada-yada that goes into someone's computer, somewhere. We can limit, to a point, of what goes online because, yes, like downloading the CPAP app, we give permission, but there's lots that we don't have power over or really have a choice about, just by having a bank account or doing our taxes.

I'm FAR from being a techie, and look to others for advice and guidance on even selecting my laptop purchases, so what this says to me is all of these so called breaches and spyware depends on people remaining ignorant till it's too late, which it probably is already. We are so dependent now on our electronics and the internet.

We may see the tide turn AJ, that is why it is important to maintain a can do spirit vs. "we are doomed to this junk" so just submit. They, the purveyors of this junk need a defeated attitude in order to continue.

The tide is turning, all of these things are being exposed and will lead to a better way (liberty).

As far as the back door on all chips, it takes some very sophisticated operators to get into them and run exploits so unless you are a Congressman, dictator or have some significant interest to the Intel community I wouldn't worry to much about it. It's not likely they want to break into your machine.

Not likely, at this point, at all... however, these "doors" into every computer and device on earth could not possibly have been an accident. The creators and developers may or may not have completely understood what they were doing but what about God's plan for the end times? I always wonder about this stuff and how it fits into how the end times are going to play out. I totally believe that where God's word says that every eye will see Christ's second coming is completely dependent on the hand held devices that are carried world wide and the ability to live stream absolutely EVERYTHING that happens now.

There has to be a well hidden reason for this that we just don't understand yet. And I'm speaking spiritual reason...

Oh, there were no "mistakes", it is all intentional. You don't hide a webserver and full stealth networking on a chip by accident. I don't want to get too technical here but that would be like "mistakenly" putting 5 wheels on a car, it's that blatant.

    >And I'm speaking spiritual reason...

It's all Babylon/One World Government attempting to make their move. It is demonically inspired but we really have the power to expose, resist and overcome. Praise God!

Resist the devil and he will flee.

Too often we jump on his (Satan) band wagon, driven by fear (their big tool). You see it here on any of these topics, oh they need to spy on us to keep us safe, a fear based tactic authored in the pit of hell.

    The devil is a liar!

    To God be the Glory!

    You know what's interesting?

Now that I know about Intel (well, a little bit) and that AMD doesn't have the same spyware or whatever it's called... I just noticed for the first time that my laptop that I've been using for probably close to 7-8 years has AMD processor. I always wondered why it didn't have the Intel sticker. BAHAHAHA ..... I bought it off a friend who'd bought it and didn't like it for the things he needed to do. It's been a great laptop.

AMD is good stuff. It's always seemed a bit more stable, now I know why, it doesn't have a hidden operating system running.

It is also the chip of choice for gamers, more extreme computing.

    I posted this earlier, re:AMD

I bought one of these a few years back.

There are two chip/processor selections when searching.. Intel (compromised) or AMD.

    AMD works fine, no issues.

It's possible that the verse implies that everyone will see Christ's coming with spiritual eyes, that is, they will perceive his glory overwhelmingly.

AMD is deploying a patch for the second Spectre CPU vulnerability
It has admitted that its chips are susceptible to both Spectre variants.

    https://www.engadget.com/2018/01/12/amd-spectre-patch/

While Intel is at the center of the Spectre/Meltdown fiasco, AMD's chips are also affected by the CPU vulnerabilities. The company previously said that the risk of exploit using variant 2 was near zero due to its chips' architecture. But in its latest announcement, it said that because both variants are still "applicable to AMD processors," it also plans to release patches for the second variant to be absolutely safe. AMD already provided PC manufacturers its fix for the first Spectre version, and Microsoft has begun rolling it out. The chipmaker also said it's working with Redmond to address a problem that delayed the distribution of patches for its older processors.

Since the second version of Spectre needs a different fix, AMD will provide its customers and partners for Ryzen and EPYC processors with a patch for its chips starting this week. Firmware updates for its older chips will follow in the coming weeks. If you use Linux, you might get it sooner than you think, since Linux vendors have already started releasing OS patches for the second variant. You might have to wait a bit if you're a Windows user, though, since AMD is still working out distribution timing with Microsoft.

Despite deciding to release a patch for version 2, the company reiterated
that its chips' architecture will make it very difficult for attackers to use the exploit. It also maintained that Meltdown isn't applicable to AMD chips at all. AMD's processors aren't "susceptible" to Meltdown, the chipmaker wrote, "due to [the company's] use of privilege level protections within paging architecture." Since "no mitigation is required" for variant 3, it won't be creating a patch for the vulnerability.

Update: AMD clarified that it never said its chips were not susceptible to variant 2.

Shocking new Intel flaw gives hackers full control of laptops in less than 30 seconds

A newly-disclosed Intel security flaw impacting most corporate laptops can let hackers with physical access to a computer backdoor the device in "less than 30 seconds".

That's according to F-Secure, a Helsinki-based security firm, which said in a report Friday (12 January) that default settings in Intel's Active Management Technology (AMT) were to blame. It warned that "millions" of laptops may now be vulnerable to exploitation.

....Physical access is needed, but to exploit the Intel AMT vulnerability all an attacker needs to do is power up the target machine and press CTRL-P during boot-up, experts said.

The attackers can then log into Intel Management Engine BIOS Extension using the default "admin" password (most likely never altered) and change it to whatever they wish. In doing so, the hacker can gain remote access to the system from both wireless and wired networks, as long as they're able to insert themselves onto the "same network segment" with the victim, F-Secure said......
