I really liked it, and it wasn't bloody (just alluded to, NOTHING like Walking Dead). Liked that it was quirky and unique.

You mean the vampire chomping down on the folks on the plane wasn't bloody enough? and the vampire himself being covered in it? It was more than alluded to!!

That's nothing like the Walking Dead! He only bit them, he didn't tear them to pieces on camera. That was mostly an action/fight scene; moreso than a chomping them up and cannibalizing them. There was another scene where the vampire came out of the plane and landed in a field and a poor cow wandered up. All they showed was a far-away shot of the vamp pulling the cow into the hole (though you knew what happened).

Nawwww....nothing like the Walking Dead. Preacher is wayyyyyy more mild than other things you see on tv, imo.

Ok, I'll take your word on it Like I said, I didn't watch Walking Dead because I sorta knew what would be happening..but with Preacher, like you said it's quirky..I liked how he dealt with the wife beater

Ok, FO and Catchy have different perspectives. I know Catchy, like me, is a little more liberal on certain matters of TV fare. But FO's description of the vampire "chomping down on folks" has me trembling.

Maybe I'll take a peek with my eyes partially covered.

It really was not a big deal at all!!!!!

Well, I'm not liberal at all when it comes to certain things. I refuse to watch anything Shonda Rimes. I don't mind a few cuss words but when it's in the gutter....no way. I've turned off or tuned out, more tv fare in the past few years (and movies I've stopped in the middle, stuff on Netflix, etc....) than ever before. It has shocked me how NASTY and disgusting stuff is now. It's almost as if it's not even considered "good" or "cutting edge" if it doesn't involve some sort of bizarre sexual fetishism, LGBT agenda, etc....and I just won't watch it. I just won't. I don't even mind gay characters, but when it is preachy, is manipulative and has an agenda, forget it.

I don't hold non-Believers to MY standard. That's why when people get their patties in a knot over a cuss word here or there, I wonder what they do in real life? There is a line, but it's all subject to our own convictions.

IMO, Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmerman is literally 100,000 times worse than the Walking Dead. And I'm not even kidding.

What I meant by liberal, I mean by the strict standards of what some Christians believe we shouldn't watch. Some believe we shouldn't watch TV or go to the movies at all. Some would even question our Salvation.

Certain things I won't watch either because it interferes with my prayer & devotion time. I got tired of having to spend 30-45 minutes emptying my soul of junk, so I'm more mindful of what I allow in. Which is why I decided, for the most part, to watch the old TV shows and classic movies.

You and I usually agree on what's good or trash. I think we're similar in what we enjoy on TV and films.

    Preacher Return Date

Even though the first episode aired on May 22nd, you won't get episode 2 until June 5th. Why? Because AMC is re-airing the pilot episode on May 29th instead. We don't quite get it, either, but it probably has something to do with the holiday weekend.
