I've seen it heavily promoted, but I'm not sure I'm interested, particularly if Tyler Perry has so much to do with it. It's like taking something sacred and beautiful and making it something else.

I have the DVR set, but I'll probably watch it like I do the Academy Awards; while I'm preparing for the next day, cooking, cleaning, fast forwarding through the "goofy" stuff, etc.

I've considered watching it, but I might view it here and there....torn. The only thing I'm really interested in, is hearing Trisha Yearwood sing some of the songs. I've heard some clips of her (she's doing Mary's part), and her parts are very moving and beautiful. I like the concept, I just don't like the mixing of the holy and the sacred.....these namby-pamby, wishy-washy, "Christians" that have created a god in their own image and likeness instead of the other way around, are really plucking me right now.

I feel ya sis. I'm disappointed with Tyler Perry, but it was bound to happen once he hooked up with Oprah Winfrey. 1 Cor. 15:33

So far, so good...Tyler and the actors portraying Jesus and the disciples are sticking to the Biblical narrative...
I'm waiting on Seal tho
There's also a lot of folks carrying and walking with a huge cross thru the area where this is taking place.

Well, I've heard that you either loved it or hated it, and most hated it.
