ABC Cancels Of Kings and Prophets
"Kings, set 1,000 years before the time of Christ, looks at "faith, ambition and betrayal … through the eyes of the battle-weary King Saul (Ray Winstone), the resentful prophet Samuel (Mohammad Bakri) and the resourceful young shepherd David (Olly Rix), (with) all on a collision course with destiny that will change the world."
Ever since ABC cancelled the brilliant legal drama, "Harry's Law" starring Kathy Bates, I have my own private boycott going on, vowing to myself to never again watch any program on that station except Jeopardy!
Along comes "Of Kings and Prophets" and I take a chance. I should've known better. Once again ABC cancels a program I really enjoy and after only two episodes. *sigh*

I watched part of the first episode, but couldn't seem to get interested in it.

I'm glad they canceled it sooner rather than later. I only watched the first episode, but had not the chance to watch episode 2. I just deleted it. No sense watching it only to be frustrated.

Haven't caught Of Kings and Prophets but Jeopardy is aired on the NBC affiliate locally.

I watched the first episode too, but was very disappointed that they totally ignored the spiritual/God connection between David, Samuel, Saul, etc.
For example, when David was asked why he felt compelled to fight Goliath, he responded by saying something along the line of, "It's just something I have to do." No mention of how he was leaning and depending on the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to help him destroy that uncircumcised Philistine.
I was done after that.
Guess I shouldn't have been surprised, huh?

Yeah, the glaring inaccuracies turned me off. Probably why I didn't finish watching it...and as ya'll know....I loathe the British accents in biblical movies. Just absolutely loathe them.

And once again (just like in the Bible mini-series), they have a hideous looking Saul! lol
Just once I'd like for Bible movie makers to cast actors that at least resemble the subject they're playing the way the scriptures describe them. They only do that with the female subjects though.
I didn't expect they'd be scripturally accurate, but you'd think they'd get the main stuff right. Having David kill the lion with his sling finished it for me, but still, I was willing to watch a few more episodes to see if it got better.

Yes, it airs on NBC in Michigan too, and when I first moved to OK, it was on NBC. But they switched to ABC 3 yrs. ago. I joke and say it's because they knew I was boycotting them for canceling my girl Kathy Bates, "Harry's Law", so they moved Jeopardy! knowing I'd follow...I will be a fan til Jesus returns!

I know, right?
Saul was a tall, good-looking man according to the Bible, and David was a cute, athletic, hairy, red-head (at least in my mind's eye)
