    On the Wrath of God

"The greatest peril facing every person, in every ethnic group, in every place on earth, and at every time in history, is the righteous wrath of God against guilty sinners, leading to everlasting suffering"

    1. The wrath of God is terrible and eternal.
    2. The wrath of God is present. It has already begun.
    3. The wrath of God is coming in final judgment.
    4. The wrath of God is owing to our sin, which exchanges the glory of God for the glory of man.
    5. The wrath of God is righteous.
    6. The wrath of God is God's prerogative, not ours.

Isaiah 54: 7 God says, "I left you for a short time,
but with great kindness I will bring you back again.
    8 I became very angry
and hid from you for a time,
but I will show you mercy with kindness forever,"
says the Lord who saves you.

9 The Lord says, "This day is like the time of Noah to me.
I promised then that I would never flood the world again.
In the same way, I promise I will not be angry with you
    or punish you again.
    10 The mountains may disappear,
and the hills may come to an end,
    but my love will never disappear;
my promise of peace will not come to an end,"
says the Lord who shows mercy to you.

That's the wonder of it isn't it LionHeart? Although we all deserve His wrath there are those to whom He chooses to show mercy. (Not that He needed to, it would be perfectly just if He didn't)

P.S. Sinners need to know they're under the wrath of God else they won't understand that they need to be saved.

"there are those to whom He chooses to show mercy" All who repent and believe the Gospel. Anyone ,anywhere, can believe and receive.

As we are talking of God's wrath, which we all deserve, I was just referencing the Apostle Paul's quoting, in Romans, what God said to Moses, For He says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whomever I have mercy, and I will show compassion to whomever I show compassion." (Rom 9:15)

Yep, as Paul says in Rom 10, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Paul sees a little issue with this LionHeart because the very next thing he writes is, How then are they to call on Him in whom they have not believed? How are they to believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how are they to hear without a preacher? But how are they to preach unless they are sent?

To believe you have to have something to believe in, and as Paul is saying here, you can't believe in something you've never heard of. Not that anyone's interested BTW, Paul (and the Psalmist) have already told us that, "There is no righteous person, not even one; There is no one who understands, There is no one who seeks out God;" in Chapter 3.

Not that that concerns God, He's already worked it out. As Jesus tells us in John 6, "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day. It is written in the Prophets: 'And they shall all be taught of God.' Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to Me."

So there we were LionHeart, you and I, unrighteous, not understanding that we were under the wrath of God, not seeking God, (Rom 3) and the Father chose to draw us to Jesus, and, as with everyone else whom the Father draws to Jesus we come to Him and He will raise us up on the last day. Jesus says so. (John 6).

Aren't you glad that the Father drew you to His Son so that you would be saved LionHeart? I'm glad He drew me.

    ....does anybody?

I don't mean that sarcastically; genuine question. I cannot think of a single Christian who tells that to his family or coworkers, neighbors every single day - in fact, perhaps not even more than once a year. Do you?

You have to know the background to my comment and past posts/threads

FFO has made a point of informing us ad nauseum how God is wrathful, angry and full of vengeance.

So instead of always telling us on this forum I want to know does he tell others as diligently as he tell us
He meets people so does he make sure they continually hear about the wrath and vengeance of God

I wasn't drawn to God because I feared His wrath. I was drawn because of His love for me.
