This is not in relation to tithing but actually everything we do that is good and biblical is warring against satan as he is the opposite of goodness
Even giving someone a glass of cold water as Jesus said...the devil hates something as small as that

Yes, thank you for not using a captial "s" when spelling nutjob's name.

I've been doing that for years and have actually had people tell me I should honor him as a created being... bull!

There is no honor for that rat in Heaven and Jesus said God's will be done on earth as it is in Heaven, so to heLL with the devil

I agree they did not teach the Gentiles the concept of tithing that we know of..as I have said many times...the silence is deafening regarding tithing in the NT..so I lean toward believing God did not intend for it to change or He would have had them teach AGAINST it? Since Jesus tithed I am not sure how tithing originated with the Catholic church..maybe they reinstated the practice or began to teach on it and make it doctrine...but the giving of the tithe was not their original idea...
You do realize that Jesus lived under the old covenant and kept the law perfectly, right? If He taught otherwise, then he would have been a law breaker and not the fulfillment of the law.

The only doctrines that we have any business teaching to the NT church are the doctrines established in the NT. This is done by looking at what Jesus taught His disciples, how they reacted to said teachings, and then how they disseminated them to the churches from Acts to Jude.
To do otherwise is to wander from the clear teachings of the bible.
If we cannot show a doctrine being taught to the church by the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus being the Chief Cornerstone, then we should not build on these things.
This is a good way for error to creep into the church (just as it has with this doctrine).

So ask yourselves this: Was the doctrine of tithing taught to the Romans, Corinthians, Philippians, Colossians, Ephesians, Galatians or any of the other NT churches? There is not one shred of evidence to say that it was. So at best, it goes down as "traditions of men".
Do we see Philip commanding the Ethiopian to make sure he tithes when he gets home?
And why didn't the Jerusalem council in Acts put it in their letter to the gentile believers?

These are honest questions for the supporters of this "doctrine" to answer.

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others. Matthew 23:23

Jesus did not denounce tithing. He denounced using tithing as a way of evading "the weightier matters of the law," which demand real sacrifice. The Lord says that tithing, even in small matters, is something not to be neglected.

I see that you are still holding on to your one teensy weensy partial scripture taken out of context to try and make a doctrine out of.
Go with the whole counsel of God's word bro.
Study it out for yourself instead of jumping on someone else's band wagon. You can do it. I have confidence in ya bro.
Come on, open up the word and start reading what they taught to the church and what they didn't teach to the church. Go Nikos!

Tithing is a covenant relationship thing that is an honor to be able to walk in... and yes, there is also offerings so our giving should be more than 10%

But, the first 10% of the gross income belongs to the Lord of those that desire to walk in Covenant with the Lord.

It's not a works things, it's a "I'm honored to be able to honor the Lord with the first fruits of the increase He has blessed me with" and it should be done in prayer because the tithe is money (in times past it may have been goods back when bartering was like money)... but tithing is done with the mouth.
That's kinda where I am at. ITHS (It's the HONOR, sxxxxx). I have seen a somewhat famous article written by some PHD from Dallas Seminary (I think), going to great lengths to point out that the tithe was a SPOILS thing not an "repeatable" command thing. Well if you were looking for a reason NOT to HAVE to tithe, certainly that is there, BUT it's about HONORING GOD, plain and simple: whether it's the spoils of a battle, or an unexpected check.

It is truly about giving all we can WITHOUT thinking legalistically. In fact if you think you are doing ANYTHING toward the Lord legalistically, then please DON'T DO IT.

I believe true faith works its way to always increase more any opportunity we can. If God truly deserves our all, it should have a manifestation in the natural. More finances, more time spent with God, more prayer, more worship. It's very simple here: Love is action, and greater love is more action. It's continual advancement in every area of our lives.

10% - I would posit that in our hearts that is just a "passing point." I can see a time when a large part of our resources may be called upon to help God's suffering people. It will be a true test of how much we are willing to sacrifice for the Kingdom. What we honor we commit something to it that COSTS US.
