The problem with most so-called theology in the past several centuries has been its STARTING POINT! It's starting point has primarily been philosophical man-made ideas about what it is supposed to mean to be God. It has started with ideas about how God is supposed to act if He is almighty, sovereign, holy, a judge, etc.

In most cases in theology, sovereignty and power were made the primary attributes of God while love was minimized and made unimportant. Even worse, all of these attributes were redefined from their normal meanings to fit within a certain ideological narrative. Then theologians scoured the Word of God to find proof-texts that would help them spread their philosophical ideology concerning God and deceive men to into accepting it as Biblical truth.

When the starting point of theology has been men's ideas about God sprinkled with proof-texts then you get a mean, ugly, arbitrary, unloving and unattractive picture of God that causes men to hate Him. He becomes a devil of a deity.

When the starting point of theology is Jesus then God becomes the BEAUTIFUL person that He truly is. Jesus shows us exactly what God is like. He shows us that God is not mean, arbitrary, uncaring, and a flaunter of His divine power. On the contrary, God only uses His power to help and bless. He uses His power to deliver from oppression. He is the epitome of love. God is everything we would ever want or need. When we see Jesus and His life displayed in the gospels, we see everything we need to know about God's personality.

I hate the god of most theologians, especially the Calvinist ones. But I LOVE the God that Jesus is and has introduced me to.

That right there, is something that needs to be nailed to the door (a-la Luther) of every godless, unbelieving seminary or church and pasted on the back cover of every Bible!

My wife has been watching his Youtube videos. She likes him. I have one book by him called "God is good" but I don't think I made it past the first chapter or second chapter yet. Maybe soon....

While I think that your way of thinking has some merit, it doesn't hold water when applied to the Bible in totalitarian fashion. Then it becomes a matter of using your particular mindset or philosophy as a starting point then simply applying it to scripture at will.

Let's have a look at some statements about Jesus :

Rev 14:10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.

2 Thes 1:7 when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power

I'd rather go with the actual scriptures than obey the result of applying your particular philosophical mindset at will to every verse there is.

He shows us that God is not mean, arbitrary, uncaring, and a flaunter of His divine power. On the contrary, God only uses His power to help and bless.
    Yeah right.
