12*Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country, your family, and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.
2*
I will make of you a great nation;
****I will bless you
and make your name great,
****so that you will be a blessing.
3*
I will bless them who bless you
****and curse him who curses you,[a]
and in you all families of the earth
****will be blessed.”
Have you ever pondering the idea that the promise was for the nation of Israel up until the Messiah's resurrection, at which time it expanded to encompass the CHURCH born through faith? More to the point, it no longer applied to the nation of Israel?
There are passaged in the NT that seem to point to this..
Gal 3:29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Just wondering if we mistake the promise of a national inheritance with verse 3 thus causing the confusion of some regarding the spiritual condition of the state of Israel.
Yes, God gave them the land and that settles it for those who FEAR God and is the reason we absolutely ally with them, but for rebels who do not believe in God or believe in a false 'god' they renounce that. But laying the 'national inheritance' aspect aside is the promise of vs 3 for the nation or the church? (rambling now....is this the same mindset of many toward America? we are intruders...have no legal right here? Certainly this seems to fit the narrative of 'globalists'.)
Kind of playing the devil's advocate here...why are the lost people of Israel viewed any differently from any other lost person of another nation?
And at your heart and core how do YOU view them?
