Or a relationship bringing an outpouring of that kind of power through him.

EXACTLY...genuine FAITH is only birthed out of a living active REAL TIME relationship....it is not birthed out of scriptural indoctrination...

Unbelievers hear the Word and have faith to believe.

Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

Yea, and what is the Word of God..."EXACTLY...genuine FAITH is only birthed out of a living active REAL TIME relationship....it is not birthed out of scriptural indoctrination... "

Hearing is the enablement of the Holy Spirit...and the scriptures, NT, did not exist when this was written...The Word is the living voice of the Holy Spirit that enables us to hear...

Faith must be based not on emotion but on the Word. The Spirit and the Word agree. They cannot be separated.

I'm not sure what you mean by "scriptural indoctrination". The Word of God is quick and powerful and mightier than any two-edged sword. His Word does not return unto Him void.

    Scriptural indoctrination?..

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.

The flakier Christians that I have met rely on more of a "direct revelation" type of faith, apart from sound doctrine and an understanding of the written word. The Holy Spirit leads us into all truth, typically through revelatory understanding of the scriptures.

That's what she said, the Holy Spirit must quicken the scriptures or it's not much more than scriptural indoctrination.
