    Here is my DAY 32

Yesterday is gone and tomorrow is not promised. Jesus said 'I am'. He did not say 'I was' or ' I want to be'. This truth does not mean we stop growing, but it does mean we simply get in step with Him today. Personally I have spent a couple of months beating myself up asking what I need to do to get where I need to be when suddenly (love those suddenly's :) a few day ago I sensed Him asking me a question, "What makes you sure you are not where I want you to be?" My response ws, "I want to be doing more for the Kingdom" followed by a short list. He responded, 'Then it is not necessarily that you are not where I want you to be but more that you are not where YOU want to be.."

If we focus on where we were or where we want to be, I won't be resting in being in the I AM, which is where I want to be,,Today hear His voice and obey...

So I believe God has been transforming thoughts arising due to this suppressed memory for years, but that negative memory stored in my memory banks was still affecting my motivations even though I had totally forgotten about it and had no idea it could still be affecting my desires negatively...By doing this He has restored my peace and rest...I will continue this path and process but now with a more free and peaceful and joyful expectancy for today...

This process is fascination in that we get uncomfortable or read something that the still small voices says 'linger here'...and if we linger and mediate..

I literally practiced several of the DISCIPLINES being discussed in the Christian Formation thread....Scripture reading, Meditation, Contemplative prayer, Journaling, Solitude...without all of these this would have been left to chance and possibly taken far longer than it needed to...

Dr Leaf teaches that every thought holds information and emotions...we often have memories arise that hold negative emotions and we just dismiss them convincing ourselves 'I dealt with that already'...but if they hold negative emotions we should not dismiss them, we should hold them in our 'mind's hands' so to speak and ask Holy Spirit to examine that memory and reveal if we need to forgive or repent or both and then ask Him to heal the emotions so this memory does not affect our responses and choices...suppressed memories ALWAYS affect the now whether we are aware of them being the influence or not....

    Day 34

This is MY contemplative HEARING today:

As I review the past 32 days I recall a vision I had years ago...angels were lined up long one wall of my church. From the pulpit facing the congregation they were on the right wall. Each one had a sword but as I looked closely the swords were different sizes. I sensed I had the liberty to take the sword as they were there to be given away...I tried to take a large sword and it was so heavy I could not lift it...I moved on to a smaller one and rasped it as laughingly thought of the fairy tale, Goldilocks And The Three Bears..one was too hot, the other too cold and one was just right...I also perceived the Lord saying the swords will grow when grasped first at the right weight..I understood the message at the time but did not see the connection to the bitter root planted early in my life, until now.

Thank You Lord for reminding me of this and continuing the process of replacing that bitter memory with truth.

    Isaiah 30:15

For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: “In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” But you would not,

In studying the stress affect years ago, I learned 2 things. Stress is the result of conflicting beliefs. The Bible calls this 'double minded'. The spirit has the mind of Christ and the soul, when in conflict, creates the state of double minded. When in this state we will 'receive nothing' because in that state faith is canceled out.

    James 1:3-8
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

And the second thing I learned is the result of stress on the physical body. I lived with chronic stress from childhood. It was not until I experienced true peace and faith in God that I discovered the 'feeling' and realized how UNNATURAL it was. I came to understand that in that state there is an internal response where the vital organs, heart, liver, kidneys..get out of rhythm. I gradually became aware in my conscious mind when this occurred and how to bring them back into alignment.

I also learned one can bring the physical back into alignment to some degree with FALSE peace, the kind the Lord calls the peace of the world. This peace can silence the spirit within by willfully embracing a lie, a compromise, a deception. I say to some degree because a person will experience the conviction and correction of the Holy Spirit up to the point of a completely seared conscience. So while we may cease to war by willfully embracing a lie which will simulate true peace, it never truly brings the body mind and spirit into sync.

Isaiah 30:3 Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.

Isaiah 30:16 But ye said, No; for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall ye flee: and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.

Psalm 20:7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

The beauty of contemplative prayer is the silencing of the mind in faith..to silence the reasoning cycle, all the various voices, and REST in Quietness and faith that God's voice is all we desire..Then and only then do we experience THE PEACE THAT SURPASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING.

    Acts 5:40-42 King James Version
40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. 41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. 42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

Some of our greatest depths of discouragement and despair are caused not by our circumstance but by where we placed our trust...

Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Today I will practice as Paul said, pray without ceasing and if I detect stress I WILL silence my soul and enter the state of contemplative prayer by faith expecting the Spirit of God within me to speak and direct...and then I will bring my thoughts and actions in alignment with what He says...and when I do this PHILLIPIANS 4:7 And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Today Lord I grasp the sword that fits my level and I grasp it joyfully....

This morning I read 2 devotions, one concerning us being salt and light and one regarding expending too much energy into trying to reason with the world.
Then I picked up on my last journal entry on 11/6. Acts 10
1-Be Still, 2-Look intently, 3-Consider the vision, 4-Write the vision.

    11/6
Acts 10:4 Prayer and alms come up for a memorial before God.
Luke 11:38-41 Give alms of such things as you have, then indeed all things are (clean) unto you
James 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this; to visit orphan and widows in their trouble, and to keep yourself unspotted from the world.
The Lord reminds me that obedience is better than sacrifice and obedience often requires giving something precious to me over something EASY…for some money is easy to give (widow mite story) but to surrender TIME, comfort, pleasurable activities is far more difficult..and PRECIOUS to the Lord. He often asks us to give that thing precious to us to not only demonstrate love but to let go so we can advance in love..

    11/11
    Picking up in James 2
2:1 Do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality..
Do not prejudge another ..and thus ‘hold the faith’..prejudging will prevent sowing.
2:13 For judgement is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs judgement.
2:14 For what does it profit my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works?

Faith is sunergeo; sun=together + ergeo= to work.
This is like saying I live by the Word of God and someone else saying the live by following the Spirit..these two are also synergetic…one does not function without the other…

Dr. Jack Hayford said in commentary, “Waiting in His presence eventually leads to recognizing his moment. When Go presents a clear divinely given opportunity, Act on it.”

Then I read Mark 6:33 Seek first the Kingdom of God…
Mark 11:23 Whosoever shall say to this mountain..

Dr. Hayford states again this is not a superstitious exercise or a figure of speech..it is an act of faith..
Luke 6:38 Give and it shall be given to you…for with the measure you USE, it will be measured unto you.

Gal. 6:7-9 God is not mocked…what we sow we reap..
Mocked..laughed at with scorn such as Sarah did when the angel said she would bear a son by the following year.. This truth is absolute and to not believe and embrace it emphatically and in faith is to mock God…foolishly..

**Dear Lord, what seeds of faith do You want me to scatter today? Where is the fertile ground? Or should I just sow? What is the difference in scattering seed and not being responsible for the response and casting pearl before the swine? Clearly both passages refer to the lost and/or rebellious/ and/or blind?

Mark 4 the parable of the sower…Jesus explains that the sower sows but the understanding has to be initiated…mysteries initiated or revealed..

Mark 4:27 says the man scatters seed and the seed should sprout; he, the man, does not know how..vs 28 says the EARTH yields crops of itself:

**Lord again, today, show me where to scatter seed and help me discern the difference in scattering seed and casting pearls before swine because it is CLEAR from the beginning of this meditation You tell us not to be judgmental but merciful and to not be a respecter of persons so it is clear to me that as I go I must be aware of a judgmental or prejudiced heart that would withhold faith/works. I am reminded that YOU know the heart and look on the heart…There are many who are blinded by the spirit of this word, walking in fear and darkness…I cannot JUDGE myself who to sow seed to and who not to…And secondly I must listen carefully to what ALMS, faith seeds, I have to give that are precious to YOU…
Thank you LORD for speaking to me this morning and as I go I will keep these truths active in my mind and in tune with my spirit..
