Which versions of the Bible do you usually use?
Since I learned on the King James the KJV is still the version I normally read from. My next favorites would be a mix of the NASB, ESV and Amplified versions.

I went to buy a KJV when first saved as that's what the Pastor used but the shop didn't have one so bought an RSV.
Later bought a Living Bible.
When I left a church after a short stay in 1973 I was given a NASB and am still using that.

Lately the folks in our church are using the ESV, so so am I.

I'm very unsettled about version right now. I grew up with KJ and then went to NIV in the mid 90's. In the 70's I bought a Living Bible but only used it for occasional reading. Right now I switch between KJ and NLT however most of my study materials are NIV, so I will probably go back to that. I'm taking ESV on my upcoming trip as it weighs the least.
I have bought so many versions and then turn around and donated them to a group that sends Bibles to Africa.

Among English versions I use the NKJV but I'm not always happy with it. When it gets things wrong, it really does. NASB isn't a bad alternative.

If they stood on their head and shouted hallelujah would you follow

I like a lot of the more modern day versions (Please don't waste my time telling that most of them are new age) though I preach and teach primarily from the KJV since it is the one most people have.
I even like some of the paraphrases that are coming out since a literal word-for-word translation, as helpful as they are, do not convey all of the idiomatic Hebraisms that can be understood by Westerners.

I use the KJV for my devotionals and 98% of memory work.
I always carry a KJV Bible into the pulpit with me but often use the NLT, NIV, AMP, and the HCSB in my Power Point presentations of my sermons. I use the PowerPoint in every Sunday morning service. In the evening services I often read from different translations listed above. I usually access them from my IPad but have on occasion used my IPhone to pull up another translation. In my estimation, the HCSB is probably the most accurate but the NLT is ranked at the top in readability.

The Hallelujah part, yes. I don't think I can stand on my head anymore. Tried it a couple of weeks ago and came tumbling down like a ton of bricks. (Need to lose some weight).
I use the same version they do because it's easier to follow the message being taught if I'm in the same version as the speaker. We have one guy who teaches out of the KJV and another the NASB. Most of the others use ESV. I've become used to teaching out of it too.

The solution to this, which is what I do, is I use the Bible on my phone so no matter what version anybody uses I have the right one.
I actually have not taken a physical Bible to church since I got a smart phone. It's been years. Of course I realize as the 'Bookman' you can't legally do that.
