I was going to ask him, but didn't. I don't even get the question.

Surely there's a reason it matters, but that reason escapes me

I just think Jeff like to be provacative and get folks thinking.

I'm not sure what the point of this one is either.

It reminds me of a question that somebody ... maybe Bill Johnson or Kris Vallotton or Randy Clark???? ... asked a ways back -- are you "body mind spirit" or "spirit mind body" ... it is a provocative question and your answer can be telling of how you process things.

Right. But that question makes no sense at all to me. How can the body dwell in the soul? He's going somewhere with it I think. It seems to be along the sames lines as a couple of other memes on the FB page that lead to his universalism beliefs. Just can't figure out how this relates though. It may not. He is a member here. Maybe he will show up.

I agree with what Nancy said, that we are a spirit, we have a soul (mind, will and emotions) and that we currently live in a body...but then the question was asked as to where that can be found in scripture. Anyone have an answer? Or do you believe something different, and if so, do you have scripture to back up your view?

    1 Thessalonians 5:23
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I still don't get how the body could be in the soul. Obviously Jeff has what is a good explanation to him of what he means.

    It's very simple..

    1 Thessalonians 5:23
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Your spirit is in your soul which is in your body... just like a seed is constructed.

Jesus said the Kingdom is built on seedtime and harvest, so God Himself is constructed like a seed and so are we.

The spirit is the life force of the soul, and is what causes the soul of man to never ever die. Man will be consciously aware for all eternity either in heaven or in hell.

The soul is your emotions, imagination, will, awareness... and you possess a body.

God is a 3 part being, and created man in His image so we are too. He see us as a 3 part being which is why we are instructed in the New Testament to renew our mind and to present our bodies unto the Lord as a living sacrifice.

Seems like Christians would have this settled by now...
