It is pretty stupid to use the book of Job to challenge the truth of divine healing, or even prosperity for that matter. Job 42 supports both. Yet, it is indeed the chapter ignored by those opposed to these doctrines. Then again most of Job chapters 1 and 2 and the part that Satan plays in the attacks on Job is often ignored by the anti-divine healing doctrinaire as well.

Anti-healing proponents typically quote Job's friends and then the verse from chapter 42 that says that God was pleased with Job, which was just after Job had repented after God had told him he was in the wrong in chapter 38. They are also unlikely to quote Elihu, who is the only person in the book who is never rebuked by God. For short, total ignorance.

So like, are you saying that God didn't put that sickness on him? Do you know of any good books on that subject?

Elihu speaking :
Job 36:8 But if people are bound in chains,
held fast by cords of affliction,
9 he tells them what they have done—
that they have sinned arrogantly.
10 He makes them listen to correction
and commands them to repent of their evil.
11 If they obey and serve him,
they will spend the rest of their days in prosperity
and their years in contentment.
12 But if they do not listen,
they will perish by the sword
and die without knowledge.
Job 34:35 ‘Job speaks without knowledge;
his words lack insight.’
36 Oh, that Job might be tested to the utmost
for answering like a wicked man!
37 To his sin he adds rebellion;
scornfully he claps his hands among us
and multiplies his words against God.”
