Look, as it were, through a telescope that will bring it up near to you; look into hell, and hear them groan; then turn the glass upwards and look at heaven, and see the saints there, in their white robes, with their harps in their hands, and hear them sing the song of redeeming love; and ask yourself--Is it possible, that I should prevail with God to elevate the sinner there? Do this, and if you are not a wicked man, and a stranger to God, you will soon have as much of the spirit of prayer as your body can sustain. -Charles Finney 'The Spirit of Prayer' from 'Lectures On Revivals of Religion'

Thanks for the update. Penix doesn't seem too solid (physically). I guess there will be decisions to make from "upstairs" as far as a shuffle of coaches go. There are rumors around here that Klint Kubiak may hit the HC market in the off season. I think you guys are still stuck with Kirk Cousins because of that outrageous contract he was given. An expensive back-up. Best wishes for the Falcon's in the off season changes that seem to be coming.

The Detroit Lions may be down but there're not out yet.
Campbells team playoff hopes are in kind of a rut, but they're not undoable to make it despite the injury adversity the Lions have had to endure this season.
It looks like they may have to win out the rest of the season, though.
Amon-Ra St. John did not practice Monday due to being banged up by the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
It's crucial that star receiver and pro-bowler, Amon-Ra St. Brown gets back on the field, especially by Thursday, and to be able to play against the Cowboys.
There are three other players in question lingering around the field not at full strength.
That includes Kalif Raymond, Terrion Arnold, and Brock Wright. Hopefully, between now and on Thursday, these players will be healthy enough to suit up and play football.
First team all pro safety, Kerby Joseph was on the practice field Monday, but "my knee is messed up" by his own words. He also mentioned that "I'm trusting God to help me get through this".![]()

It looks like the Detroit Lions may get a chance to redeem themselves on Thursday Night Football when they take on the recently hot Dallas Cowboys.
This game will give the Lions a chance to "prove themselves" and level up at home, (Ford Field) and atone for getting beat by the Green Bay Packers in front of their home base fans.
Whoever comes away with the win, could have the inside track to making a late season push. Dan Campbell stated, "Dallas is a real good team right now and are playing at a high level."
We're pretty fired up for the challenge. This will be a good test for us moving forward.
If Dan Campbell's team fails to meet the challenge by losing the contest on Thursday night, well, a loss would not only be a team setback but could derail the Lions from post season hopes.

Last night's game was a must win for the Detroit Lions. It was absolutely critical that they prevail, and Dan Campbell and his team did just that.
Lion's star receiver, Amon-Ra St. Brown played battling a injured ankle. But it didn't look that way. St. Brown had a magnificent game.
Detroit is even more alive because of their win over the Cowboys in making a playoff run.
The Lion team went from having a 30% chance to making a postseason appearance to 45% after the game. If they had lost, the Lions chances of at least earning a wildcard berth would have dropped to a 12% chance of doing so. From here on out, it's just one game a time, stacking one win at a time as a revived Lions team battles to make it to the playoffs.

The Atlanta Falcons do have an above average running game and seem to play better at home.
The Falcons also like to blitz. One reason is to make up for a lack-luster pass rushing attack.
Yet, Atlanta is third in the league with 41 sacks.
DT Brandon Dorlus has (6) followed by linebackers Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr. (4.5).
However, Zach Harrison has 4.5 sacks yet remains on IR with a knee injury.
You can count on the Falcons sending multiple blitz schemes to pressure QB Sam Darnold into throwing uncompleted passes or forcing a turnover which Darnold is unpredictable at doing.
Last Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings defense pressure Darnold relentlessly, forcing him to a season low 128 passing yards and only one touchdown drive.
We all know, when Sam Darnold is pressured in the pocket, he is known to make mistakes.
But he might fare better if Atlanta chooses to install a more tradition blitzing scheme.
Regardless, DC Jeff Ulbrich will draw up a defensive package custom made for Sam Darnold to limit him in all phases of his game. And that starts with QB pressures which in turn could produce what Darnold faced when playing the Vikings (problems) a week ago. One last thing, I can't help but think that Kirk Cousins would love to upset the Seahawks at home. Look for Cousins to have a better game than usual.

A key receiver, Drake London will be out of the Falcons line up with a left knee strain when the Seahawks enter Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday. London has missed the last two games. He has 810 receiving yards and 6 TD's thus far this season. The Falcons will also be missing Brandon Dorlus as well. He leads the Falcons in the sack department. Defensive linemen James Pearce and David Onyemata are not ruled out but remain questionable. Seattle gets back two starters off IR in DT Jarran Reed and S Julian Love. NFL annalists give the edge to Seattle by seven points.
I'm not predicting who's winning this game. An NFL football game is hard to win against two opposing teams battling it out on the field (no matter who they are). As far as I know, the Alanta Falcons could away walk with an upset in spite of key injuries that will be missing. Sam Darnold is hot or he is not, depending on opposing defenses irritating him through multiple pressures. Best wishes and I hope it's a close game fuego.

Are Firebrand and fuego still football fans? Miss hearing your football comments on your teams, respectively. Or any other concerns and comments you may have on other teams. Specifically, a question for FB, do you see the Lions making a push into post-season football? I do! Any comments you have would be greatly appreciated.![]()
